No, but it's something I've wanted to do for awhile now. GTA V will most likely be my first.

I've been to a couple - the last Harry Potter book (at bookstore), Skyrim/Assasin's Creed Revelations, Halo Anniversary, at GameStop.
They are fun - I did feel a bit like 'the chaperone' as I am older than most there. But they play games, have contest, people get prizes. I would encourage it - fun friendly good times.
I've been to the midnight launch of Fable 2, Halo: Reach, Madden 2012 and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (didn't get the last two games but went with a friend who was). They can be pretty boring or pretty awesome depending on where you go
Went for Gears 2 and 3, also did the Wii launch. I decided to preorder Halo 4 at my local store and I have the following day off so can play all night. Didn't want to risk having to wait on launch day while my friends play it.
Super Smash Bros Brawl is the only game I've gone to a midnight release for, I think. It was fun times. I recall one of the first people in line holding their copy up with a game guide and everyone booed him. lolol
I remember going to my first midnight launch 10 years ago. It was for Metroid Prime. Still have my copy in working condition. Then I was tagging along with my brother who had reserved God of War 3. Then I tagged with him again cause he reserved madden 2011. It got pretty boring since Im not in to football.
Now he's tagging along with me to the Wii U launch.

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030
