I remember playing doom 3 on the Xbox1, i found it so incredibly boring at the time. I think it was only intense and scary when I was really hammered. Doom 3 is like walking through a "haunted house", its walk around and wait for things to pop out at you. Wasn't great at the time, I doubt it's any good now. If you have some booze though, its going to be intense and scary and a blast to play.

It was already outdated when it came out back in 2004 (everything but graphics) and today it's even more outdated. Graphics included.

yep, totally dated and uninspired gaming

hours and hours of running through the same damn corridors

I know this game is like, ooooold. But I payed it for the first time this week, when I purchased the BFG edition for the 360. It's actually a really refreshing game. It plays a bit like Half-Life or F.E.A.R., but on the other hand it's still classic Doom. I love how the game introduces "new" enemies, which are, ofcourse, actually the same old enemies (imp, demon) but now they are actually scary. Enhanced or not, the graphics look amazing even compared to many other games nowadays. The lighting and dynamic shadows are especially intense.

The only thing I really don't like is that the weapons so far pack too little of a punch, and the enemies hardly do you any damage, which reduces the tension compared to if you were able to kill enemies faster and they could kill you faster.

Anybody else experienced this game recently? They don't make shooters like this anymore.

I played it around the time I picked up my Xbox 360. I wanted to play some of the original Xbox games, and Doom 3 looked really excellent.

Don't let the critics get to you Chrizum; Doom 3 is the best game in the series, one of the better first-person shooters ever made, and definitely one of the scariest games I've had the pleasure to play.
