Most chinese buy PS3 for japanese games anyways, like gundam and dynasty warrior, SF, resident evil, and so on. The major battle is localizing games for the Chinese market, if you can do that, then u can break into the market. If you keep everything in English and Japanese and sell the console like it has ALREADY been sold for the past six years with a slightly lower price tag, I think it will be a hard nut to crack.
..There are ads for PS3 in china, but not from Sony. Rather from individual stores. Games are all in english or japanese; so most people who buy games are going mainly for action games (with limited need to read) or Japanese game with heavy anime theme.
It is not censored as heavily as you think, and you can still get world news from google.hk instead of google.cn. You guys need to pack ur stuff and go to china for a visit, Americans tend to think of China as some under developed place or North Korean like regime. Go to Beijing and Shanghai metropolitan area, it's busier and more glamerous than most American cities. My cousin who came to visit me in Los Angeles ask me why are the buildings in LA so small, it's nothing like the movies she said and almost no night life compare to Shanghai where she came from where shops are open 24/7. The business in most LA area close shop at like 8PM with exception to a few restaurants and bar.. Almost everything opening 24/7 in major districts in shanghai at night
this is china
