Name which devs have said otherwise...I can't remember anyone saying the Wii U isn't a next gen system.

This sounds very much like he's talking about unannounced systems, which we haven't seen otherwise why would he phrase it like he has? Obviously its not conclusive but the logic points towards him talking about 720/PS4

EA is building games for the Wii U...the same logic applies.

umm I'm pretty sure it was announced that EA is working on new IPs for unannounced consoles (next ps/xbox)..he is most definitely referring to them

Poor Nintendo. I fear they are far behind in power. In fact I wouldnt be surprised if Nintendo again miss these new IPS due to power.

Nintendo is always behind a gen and EA is always behind profit.

The emphasis is on him specifically stating that he's seen the the machines, as if they're an unknown quantity right now. It could just be the way I read things, but sounds as if he's implying that we haven't seen them. Not to say that Wii U can't be part of the equation but here I think he's making specifc reference to Microsoft and Sony's machine. 

They don't have to state it you will see when devs don't make their games for the Wii U and only put it on 720 and PS4. 

This is fantastic news for us PC gamers! Now we'll finally get rid of the old roadblock the relatively weak HD consoles were holding us back with!

Just because we don't see EVERY game on a system launch doesn't mean third parties aren't making them. In fact most new consoles have crap launch tittles, with the exceptions of some few and far between "killer apps".

I think is silly to assume he's talking about the next xbox and the PS4 specifically when he didn't mention them. Besides the article is from September, although that probably doesn't mean anything.
