They are ''Environmental Holes''. So they can use less plastic in the case.
The 3DS ones normally have pictures or something visible through all their holes. Kid Icarus has loads of Pits face, same for Starfox 3D and Super Mario 3D Land. So hopefully WiiU will have too!!

Hopefully it is just that camera because that tint is yucky.

It's an actual recycle logo behind the manual, why would they do that!!!
