I'm watching the "Sandy reports" on CNN occasionally and can't figure out why all these reporters have the urge to stand in the water. What is the point of standing in water while reporting? Ever heard of placing a stick on the ground and read the water level from safe ground?

I think one of these idiots even said "All the reasonable people have left the area" ..... Hello - What does this make YOU?

People are fucking stupid, even if you put the stick in the water and all that, give them number, they still wont get it until they see somebody drowning. "oh, its that deep"

This isn't CNN, this is the urge of all news reporters everywhere. Clearly it's something demanded by the audience.

Well, they are there to cover the news. As to why they stand in the water.....I don't know.

I work at a local news station and our reporter was outside in the rain and wind showcasing all the swinging street lights

It's only once a while that weather reports get to be dramatic.

Why are you complaining about a woman getting wet on television.
