Actually, on metacritic there are four 80's, one 85. Overall 91 so far though.

Call of Duty might be the best selling FPS franchise of the 21st century, but Halo is definitely the most iconic.

Halo 4 now appears to be in the running for Best Xbox 360 Game, Best FPS, Best Graphics, Best Sound, Best Multiplayer, and Game of the Year.

A 7 for Halo: CE? Clearly that reviewer is an idiot.

Most iconic, yes. And we can hardly argue that it is also of much higher quality than COD.

With some more 10s it should be able to climb to 92 at best, or finish at 91 maaaybe 90. Still very good!

With Halo 4, developer 343 Industries wants to invite us on a new journey, but a memorable one to say the least. A new start for the Master Chief, who experiences here his best adventure ever in his career at the UNSC. 

Just the single player campaign makes Halo 4 a must have for any Xbox owner, but if you add to that the excellent Spartan Ops mode and a multiplayer component worthy of the series' legend, you really have the perfect package to spend the next months fighting for the human cause. Visually superb thanks to a great artistic direction and divine lighting effects, Halo 4 can also count on a superb original soundtrack which manages to make us forget about the absence of the series' main theme. Sure there are a few flaws, some objective, some more subjective, but the bottom line is that this new installment in the franchise has offered us more than any other first person shooter has in the past few years. For that, we just want to say thanks.

The game should hold a 90-92 meta, which is very close to what I predicted (91-93). So far, extremely impressed with what I've read about the game. Anyone that thought this game would score over 95 was insane. Be realistic people, even if it is THE best Halo game and the best game all year, it still would still only score no higher than 94, tops.
