I did also quite like Catherine (I think that was released this year), so I would like to see that game get mentioned.

Best game I've played thus far in 2012 is Borderlands 2. I have high expectations for Halo 4 and Hitman Absolution. Still waiting for my Assassin's Creed III copy though. I live in Brazil, so it will be delayed. =(

I'm guessing the GOTY winner will be one of those four games. Mass Effect 3 and Max Payne 3 were awesome, but both suffered from the ending imho. Not so sure about Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition. Got it on PC as a gift from a friend, even though I already had the game on X360. Installed it for the extra content but found myself fixing problems more than actually playing.

I never really thought AC graphics where amazing. I mean considering the budget they have the graphics in AC II and Revelations where rather mediocre.

Well tell me an open world game that looks clearly better then. The scenes that are rendered in AC are huge and they look great from every angle, even from the top of a 300 foot cathedral!

Assassin's Creed games really don't look all that great.  Good but not great, and if we are talking about consoles then I'd say Red Dead Redemption beats it.  If we are including PC then pretty much everyting.  Ubisoft sucks on PC

I'm a big fan of Assassin's Creed since 2007, but I have to agree with you on that. The Witcher 2 on the PC beats most of third person open world games by far.
The graphics are great in AC, though. But yeah, Ubisoft really sucks on the PC. Low framerate on good specs, unable to change aspect ratio and not so much graphic improvements.


Yeah, I'll never understand the reason to praise a game like Assassin's Creed for its graphics.  Even on consoles it's not one of the best.  And theres is no excuse to look or perform bad on a PC

Metacritic are biased. They add reviews to the 360 version when the review is also for the PS3 version. BTW, 88 vs. 84 :)

80-89 range = Same. No need to quibble on a few points when your in the same camp. Now if the PS3 version was 90+ then youd have something.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I have played about 2 hours and am almost finished with sequence 2 and I am in love with the game. It is a bit slow to begin with but I think its still great and is way better than brotherhood and revelations. Its just as good as AC2 too, IMO. I would give it a solid 9 so far and I haven't ran into any bugs at all as of yet.
