Forums - Sales - Am I the only one that thinks Vita will sell less in 2013 than 2012?

I think with a price cut and after this holiday season Vita will be alright. Probably 40-50mil lifetime which is pretty good!
The future is iPhone & iPad and Sony, Nintendo and Ms no it. The problem is the consumer also knows that and are obviously picking the future. I have a iPad, iPhone & Vita and honestly wish LBP, Uncharted & Assassins creed was on I products over vita.. Same goes for mario ect. I mean unless Nintendo enter the phone market next gen I think they should release games on Apple, android phones and same goes for SONY. I think they should work hard to partner with Apple and create great games for iproducts plus there own phones and tablets and not bothered with the Psvita. But I have no rambled and no one is reading this. Sausage, potato and a clustered mario house TBH.

Yeh Vita and 3DS ;)

The thing most of you in here are ignoring is that I doubt Vita is going to get a lot of 3rd parties on board next year. They have no reason to develop for it. The console has tiny marketshare, isnt trending up, barely moves any software, and is more expensive to develop for than 3ds.

I own and love my Vita but to the people saying "Big ganes are coming" I highly doubt you get many big name 3rd party games next year. AC Liberation is going to do pretty well this holiday but other than that I dont see many titles that will move much software at all.

So you actually think that this year(2012) will be Vita's peak year? LMFAO!

Vita just launched and its selling horribly, it can only go up from now on. How long does it take for a console to peak? 3, 4 years?

Exactly. And that won't change until they release more games for it. Chicken and Egg.People won't buy a Vita unless their favorite franchise comes over to it. The Chicken came first BTW.

What?

It's been confirmed the egg came first.

You do realize YOU are the one making your prediction true? Looking at just the facts, ie a sweetastic system with Uncharted, Wipeout, Escape Plan, Gravity Rush, Super Stardust Delta, Frobisher Says, LittleBigPlanet, Assassin's Creed, SunFlowers, Smart As, Mutant Blobs Attack, Soul Sacrafice, Killzone, and Tearaway all being 100% exclusive to the Vita and Sound Shapes, Guacamelee, PlayStation All Stars Battle Royal, Sly, Motorstorm RC, Ratchet and Clank, Dust 514, Warrior's Lair, and Snapshot intermixing Vita and PS3 combined with a price cut, the Vita is and will be a device any true gamer should want.

Instead people, you included, cast a shadow of doom over the device. Even though you and every person on this sight (we are all gamers) would enjoy a Vita a lot of them aren't interested because it is "dead." Now I'm not saying you can't or shouldn't post bad news but in the case of these gloom threads you are making your own prophecy come true. Vita WILL DIE like you and many others predict if the internet keeps thinking it is already dead.

So if we keep seeing threads like this (not just from you) then your prediction will be correct. Hopefully however the Vita does good numbers this holiday and shakes a bit of people's lack of faith in it.

I have a PS3, and I'm not interested in a PSV even if it had a price cut, .......I'm not a true gamer, ....and that's a fact!

OT: Price-cut, the thing will move better numbers with some games and a more attractive price.

You can't just ignore the 14 Vita exclusive games I listed and only focus on the two aspects that don't interest you.

Why are you taking so serious that comment, which was quite obviously a joke.

And now, that I'm serious, those are not facts. Fact, there are games for PSV. Not fact: there are fabulous games for PSV, this is a subjective matter, not a fact. Look mate, PSV is doing poor sales, and the situation won't turn over with more positive threads on the interwebz.

As for the other thing, 3DS library is more robust, and I'm not interested in getting one either. Not, that I'm want to defend a title as a 'true gamer', but if found your comment funny enough to write such reply.

You didn't highlight exclusive games hence my response. That is all.

He is not suggesting that, and if you followed his posts, you'd realise that he is hardly a PSP hater/doomer/whatever.

He is only stating that 3rd party have little incentives to develop for the PSV, and he is right.

PSV might have good numbers this Christmas, as most other videogame consoles will have. Might have a poor first semester in 2013, but a better second semester, if Sony releases some strong first party titles, and add a price-cut. Then, situation may encourage devs. Under this scenario, 2013, may be worse, but 2014 better.

I think most of the early adopters are the hard core sony fans, the ones who really dislike children and resent the fact that they were once children. Once those people have bought the Vita I think it will fail to capture much more of a market.

Unannounced exclusive vita game nr 6 will boost it beyond this years sales.. I have no doubt about that
