You must be joking. Many third parties games sell very well on the 3DS.

When PS3 was stalling they made yearly price cuts. And Vita is selling even worse than PS3 in the bad days so... |
Sony needed to lower the PS3 price to the 300$ sweet spot. Now they learned from MS to not do a permanent price cut.
I'm not joking, kid icarus, resident evil revelations and kingdom hearts dream drop distance had lackluster sales
Sony has got to figure out how to sell software again. They have no franchise of their own that is going to move this thing. Apple, Google, and now MS have store fronts that will see many more users, with more capable devices so 3rd parties have no reason to be loyal. The competition will allow users to access their content on Phones, Tablets, Laptops, and TV.
Vita is a complete mess right now, and having owned a Vita 3G from day one, I do not see why anyone besides a die hard Sony fanboy would want one. It has no software, and nothing in the foreseeable future to draw interest. It is a Playstation device, yet my Xperia phone is more intertwined with the PS3. It is to big to take on the go, and the experiences it offers are better suited for home play.
I think it is very possible that next year could see Vita just die, unless Sony make major changes. People that play games will be much more likley to see say need for speed on the iphone 6 than the Vita. They will probably also have an iphone or android device that also has that game, and that game will more than likely run and look better on that phone.
IMO, Sony should focus on Playstation Mobile. Re-brand the Vita as a android Tablet, release a slider phone with Vita controls, and allow all games to be with touch screen only to keep the PS Certified program going. Allow PS Certified devices to have buttons. I think the days on a single closed platform are at an end, and the focus needs to be on the closed network with multiple access points. Microsoft seems to have figured this out, and if they are heading in the direction I think they are, and Playstation does not follow, PS4 may head down the same path.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

I think the only reason of why Sony hasn't released a Vita phone is because the technology is still not there to make it small enough for a slider design and put a battery that could last enough for serious gaming sessions (1-3 hours) and as smartphone and also because Android is too vulnerable against piracy but damn a Vita phone would be a winner.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Vita is easier to develop for than iOS but of course being HD adds costs.

Capcom, namco, marvelous, square enix and level 5 would like a word with you. Third parties are seeing great success on 3ds.
One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D
It needs to gain some momentum quickly thats for sure.
If Sony cant turn the Vita around rapidly the system will die. Hopefully your prediction is wrong because if we see a 2013 similar to how 2012 was for the Vita then I believe it will be discontinued.
You do realize YOU are the one making your prediction true? Looking at just the facts, ie a sweetastic system with Uncharted, Wipeout, Escape Plan, Gravity Rush, Super Stardust Delta, Frobisher Says, LittleBigPlanet, Assassin's Creed, SunFlowers, Smart As, Mutant Blobs Attack, Soul Sacrafice, Killzone, and Tearaway all being 100% exclusive to the Vita and Sound Shapes, Guacamelee, PlayStation All Stars Battle Royal, Sly, Motorstorm RC, Ratchet and Clank, Dust 514, Warrior's Lair, and Snapshot intermixing Vita and PS3 combined with a price cut, the Vita is and will be a device any true gamer should want.
Instead people, you included, cast a shadow of doom over the device. Even though you and every person on this sight (we are all gamers) would enjoy a Vita a lot of them aren't interested because it is "dead." Now I'm not saying you can't or shouldn't post bad news but in the case of these gloom threads you are making your own prophecy come true. Vita WILL DIE like you and many others predict if the internet keeps thinking it is already dead.
So if we keep seeing threads like this (not just from you) then your prediction will be correct. Hopefully however the Vita does good numbers this holiday and shakes a bit of people's lack of faith in it.
