Forums - Sony - Vita's new slogan?: "Console quality on the go"

I find it suspect that they are using another slogan already. As for the "console quality on the go" that's a great thing. Home gaming is the epicenter of gaming quality. The closer handhelds can get to that fidelity is excellent. Anyone who says otherwise...well that's just hogwash. Quality is quality. Arguing for less quality and claiming more is bad is just ridiculous. Handhelds get more capable every gen and our current home console gen is about to take a leap forward making handhelds weaker in comparison. Maybe that's what these people mean, but fail to articulate properly, and I've seen this as a business strategy (one I believe Wii tapped into this gen) where weaker graphical systems provide a cheaper development opportunity while catering a market familiar with that quality of gaming.

Also, games are games. Handheld, home console, all the same. Both "types" of games exist on both systems and the "line" people have created is blurring more and more. As for power, power is the ceiling, not the floor. A powerful handheld is capable of all types of games. It is really great, everything from PS3 level downward. Quite the wonder in a handheld console, well, for the time being until next gen hits.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Oh, wasn't able to watch the commercial earlier for some reason, got to now. Never stop playing is still there. I wouldn't call console quality on the go a slogan.

Nothing will ever top "Now you're playing with power... PORTABLE POWER!!!"

Sony might as well steal that one and use it for the Vita... they've already stolen everything else from Nintendo.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

phones are boring

The ad was really cool but I don't like the slogan that much.

Mario is very portable and console friendly, especially the 2D series.

And it's still a game that doesn't depend on Dolby 5.1 and/or large HD displays. It's not a visceral experience, it doesn't have a complex storyline and it can be consumated in small portions. So it's very handheld viable. I know, it was born on home consoles therefor it's forever tainted at being a subpar handheld game.

Btw. I find it quite funny that people rage about "I am not a gamer..." but a commercial where someone says "This train needs an assassin" and then goes on to imagine how he stabs someone on the train in the back is alright. Weird world.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
