It's true that http://www.satoruiwata.com/ appears to be a non-nintendo site, so perhaps they are just preventing others from doing the same to Miyamoto.

But based on recent Japanese Nintendo Directs, I'd say Iwata is a bigger company mascot than Miyamoto.

Just count the in-game appearances of Iwata in this video (start at 42:45) :
