They have closed pre orders -.-

Looks like they might even get the top end of their prediction at this rate, 5M Surface tablets sold in 3 montha would be a huge boost to their bottom line.

Looks like everything Microsoft is touching now turns Gold.

Xbox, Kinect, Surface, Windows 8, WP8 etc...

I guess Apple and Microsoft have a along battle ahead of them.

I really hope this thing can compete with Ipads.  I really don't like Apple, plus Microsoft has always made great products that I've liked :)  I love my windows phone.

I have had one for two years now and really like my Windows Phone.  I was show a friend something for business and she thought I had the new iphone 5 (before it had launched.)  She is a mac lover and couldn't belive how fast it worked, how nice it was, etc.   She said it was faster than her Mac at home.  I felt like I was in a commercial.

And guess I missed out on this batch of Surface tablets.   Good for Microsoft, but I am surprized they sold so fast.

Oh, and Smart Glass for your Ipad, Android, Window Phone, and Surface to arrive Friday 10-26-2012!  I hope it's cool; it could be really cool.

ios and andriod apps in 2013, only windows devices get it this month.

Actually Windows RT in the sense of the surface just means Windows on ARM. WinRT the "Windows Runtime" refers to the new metro interface which is not Windows RT specific, confusingly similar but different terms.

Yeah, that's what I mean. It's just a "by-extension" thing. They both relate to being ARM oriented (one being a way to build stuff for the ARM based RT products and the other being the actual ARM based product).

But they don't actually both relate to being ARM products at all. WinRT the runtime is for both ARM and X86

I didn't say they both referred to products. I said they both relate to being ARM oriented, where for Surface RT it's for a product while for WinRT it's for developing for an RT based product (ie. the Surface RT).

I'm not even sure why we're arguing. I was just answering his Q on what the RT stood for and I gave him a bit extra for the reasoning behind it.

probably just arguing symantics but my point was they are definitely NOT both ARM oriented. Windows RT (i.e surface is), WinRT is NOT.

Surface Windows RT looks nice and W8 Surface should be too expensive.

Actually, Android is up now!  http://www.xbox.com/en-US/smartglass#get-smartglass

It is also on the Windows 7.5 phone if you have one (but doesn't show it in the link - go in your Xbox app)

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

I'm using the smart glass app right now on my 360, it works great although it is slightly laggy on a Samsung galaxy s2. I'd say less than half a second response from my phone to the console, which you could say is to be expected. I hated typing using the controller now it's as easy as sending a text message. If i have to get up or leave the house it can put the website you're browsing through directly to your phone...

I can't edit though as I just found out. For a version 1.0 something small like that is nothing...

Anyway, anyone care to share your first impression of the surface tablet?
