both will announce something and then the pixel-counting, spec comparisons, gimmick vs feature discussions will begin.... But I still can't wait :D
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Yep, 8 years after the announcements of current HD consoles.

They already do that at 2005
E3 2012 was boring.....they better announce new consoles. I hope Wii U sells well just so MS and Sony can hurry up.

I agree about Sony. They have The Last of Us, Beyond Two Souls, and God of War next year. God of War drops in March. So unless Sony continues to drop exclusives on top of each other I don't see how they could release those 2 games and then a few months later have a new console come out. IMO I see this hapenning. I see The Last of Us coming out sometime in May or maybe June. I then see Sony releasing Beyond Two Souls around the holiday season to try and get people to buy that game to take game sales away from the 720. Sony would be sending those games to die if they have them come out a few months before their new console drops. |
Why would THE LAST OF US. a game from Sony's flagship developer, launch a highly acclaimed and high profile game like that in May or June?
Halloween/Holiday seems the most likely.

I agree. Sony will try to keep PS3 its top console for 2013 too, its costs were higher than competitors, so it needs high sales to recoup the investments. Moreover, Sony will want to end rebuilding the PS brand name, thanks to PS3 outselling its gen competitors long enough at the end of this gen, before switching to next gen, and finally Sony could be willing to dedicate 2013 also to support PSV's take-off. Supporting both the end of PS3 life and a new beginning for PSV won't leave many resources to support a new home console too.
Everyone knows there's going to be new consoles at the next e3, but I wonder if anyone besides Nintendo, MS, and Sony would try to get into the console selling business, I'm looking at you Value and Ubisoft.
