Forums - General - What do do for a living, goal in life or currently going to college for?

I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery. I've worked as a doctor and then as a teacher and now I work as a Clinical Systems Business Analyst for the Electronic Health Records department at a large hospital.

My goal is to work just hard enough so that my wife and I (+kids) can enjoy our lives and not have to worry about money.

I have something similar to a High School degree. I've been unemployed for two years and now i am working as a consultant since like 5-6 years. I do several stuff but mostly programming, conceptual work and 3rd level support for audi, volkswagen, bentley, lamborghini and many others...

my personal goals are not having too much stress. i've been close to burnout syndrome yet and i don't think i will ever be able to put much effort into work. over the last decade i just didn't care about social stuff like meeting new people and such stuff. so yeah, that's basically it.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

I have a degree in computer science and another in mathematics, I went to school to become a videogame developer but now I'm a software developer and have worked on a variety of applications in various industries

My goal is to own and operate my own Pizzeria (hopefully up to 3 locations). I currently manage one and am hoping to buy it in the next few years or start my own based off of it.

My dream is to create an artificial human or get as close as possible. I'm currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Engineering. My thesis will be on computer vision, trying to emulate humans.

Wow, a lot of computer science/engineering students. That's what I'm studying too.

A typical day involves waking up and getting coffee immediately.
Then working on some web coding, learning new ways to implement features and updating some code that I think could be worded better.
Then I get on the bus, listening to Japanese language tutorials, to go to the school where I yell at kids for 3 hours. Then I get another coffee. Get back on the bus, more Japanese, and go serve at a restaurant until 2:30 am.
The days where this doesn't happen, I either work on just coding or work at the retail place.

I'll avoid leaving a steaming lump of bitterness here and say that i'm currently working on a congressional campaign and have no idea what i'll be doing even 3 months from now

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

college degrees are expensive and can be a pointless waste of time unless you can secure a decent paying job upon graduation. business/social connections are more important in securing employment than the college degrees. specialist college degrees like medicine, dentistry, law and engineering are far more employable than not specialist degrees like science, arts, liberal arts and business degrees.

lesson learnt.

There's money everywhere if you know where to look.
