Oh, then we had "The Conduit" threads where apparently it was graphically a match for a PS3 or Xbox 360 game...Of course the game hadn't actually been released at that point, lol.
....And of course "RROD"....Oh dear oh dear...
Thank your lucky stars and remember how it really was ;) |
On the one hand: I'm happy "trends" do change but on the other hand: Each cycle goes on for so long it becomes overwhleming, I each time almost lose the will to live.
50/50 but I voted for the PS3 to hold the YTD sales.
I expect this year to be similar to every other holiday.
Will be hard
If quality and variety would matter in this Gen the 360 wouldn't even stand a chance but...
The US is crazy about their yearly Halo and CoD(its technically a 360 exclusive)
Microsoft is already starting their banwaves before Halo 4 even gets released...The next wave is around the CoD Release. This means around 5 Million consoles alone aka 30 Million DIFFERENT people have a 360 but they sold like 70 Million ;)
The whole thing depends on Europe and Japan - I think Tales of Xillia 2 and some other games will push the numbers a little bit even if the WiiU is probably hurting Sony a lot there.
It really depends on Europe at the end where even CoD is selling stronger on the PS3 than on the 360.
But well who cares - We know which consoles and games stand for quality and variety in genres and would deserve 20 Million sold units for each of its unique exclusives =)
360 will proabably win this year although if Sony had GOW Asscenssion come out this holiday season then it could have easily sold 2.5 million in its first week due to the new inclusion of online mulitpayer which is getting overwhelming early reviews the PS3 would have beaten the 360 and possibly the Wii U this holiday.

True, but I think the Vita story is only at the beginning, it's got a long way to go yet....I'm not seeing a fairtail ending personally, much as I'd like to see it fail for Sony's arrogance it can only be a bad thing in the long run as I'd sooner have Sony being successful than....Eeeeeeeeek....smartphone gaming.
