PS3 owners are boycotting Dishonored?

What are the chances it's because it has Bethesda's name on it and they've been screwed over so many times, long before Dawnguard and have learned not to trust anything with their name.

Whatever it is I am sure it is minor. Every thread or article I have found relating to a boycott is quickly followed with posts saying "Bethesda didn't make it", "Your loss", "You're not hurting Bethesda, you're hurting Arkane", yadda yadda. Not many posts in agreeance.

I will never understand those who criticize PS3 users for complaining about the quality, or lack of, regarding Skyrim.

Forget the PC vs. console war for a minute, obviously we play on whatever it is is most convenient for us. Bethesda developed this game for 360, PS3, and PC. Given their track record, particularly with PS3, naturally fans, customers, whatever you want to call us, started questioning the development. That's why Pete Hines was a critical component in all of this. I understand that, ultimately, what he has to say is essentially "scripted" by the bigger dogs, but, we, as PS3 users, were told from day ONE that this game was being developed to work on the consoles and PC. We were told that the game ran the same as on the consoles and PC and that PS3 users had nothing to worry about this time around due to Bethesda's experiences with the PS3.

Sure, no one forced us to buy the game. But, it was offered as a product that could function properly and when bought and played, it didn't.

I don't even care about the Dawnguard DLC or any other DLC for that matter. I wanted a working Skyrim on my PS3 and I never got that. Even with the patches, the game has only gotten worse for a large segment of the PS3 user base.

People spent money, a lot of it, on a product that was broken from day one that we were told wouldn't be. This is the core of the entire argument that people can't seem to grasp or go into super fanboy mode.

Lastly, on top of all of this, Bethesda has gone silent and refuses to answer any questions or give us (PS3 users) any assurance either way. Don't develop a game if it won't work.

But isnt Dishonored made by another development group and only published by Bethseda o.O?

Sure, isn't Arkane the developer?

It's the entire principle of the matter, though: it has Bethesda's name on it.

Is there really anyone who mind Dawnguard being delayed like that? I mean I've heard it was really bad anyway.

1. I work in retail. This has had zero impact on Dishonored sales.

2. Dont blame Bethesda blame the PS3. Its a know fact that the PS3s RAM can barely handle Skyrim and thats the problem. Both Sony and Bethesda know it thats why theres been no fix. Its a hardware problem not a software problem

Figures.

Just another shitty journalism job where they take 1-2 forum posts and turn it into an article about how Playstation fans are still crying about Skyrim and refuse to buy Dishonored. The "journalists" obviously didn't read past the OP in those threads, because if he did he would see that nobody ever agrees with the stupid boycotts.

I know I bought Skyrim, got fed up, returned it. On Tuesday I went to Gamestop and bought Dishonored.

so PS3 cant run fallout 3 either? oblivion? a fucking game from 2006!! because its too weak? are you FUCKING kidding me!! some people on this site are getting beyond ridiculous. my laptop from 2002 can run fallout 3 with no problems and you think the ps3 cant?

@Boutros

Dawnguard is awesome. The people who complained just expected too much I think. It was the 1st piece of DLC for Skyrim and everyone wanted it to be gigantic which it isnt. It does add some very cool stuff though.

The biggest problem for PS3 owners though is they havent even gotten the first DLC not ti mention Hearthfire is already out for PC and 360 and theres more DLC coming very soon. The more DLC they add the even harder it is on RAM. So even if PS3 gets Dawnguard its doubtful theyll get any more DLC which is unfortunate

I had no game breaking issues with Obvlivion or Fallout 3 on PS3. Completed both titles.

I had not too many issues with Skyrim either, just the lag, but I couldn't deal with it. I'll get it down the road if things get ironed out, which they no doubt will, but that will require you to buy the GoTY edition.

oblivion was mostly fine because it wasnt actually developed by bethesda. anything that is, just doesnt run on ps3. like both fallouts and now skyrim. the point i was making though was to benvtrigger about ps3 not being able to run skyrim because of its architecture. ps3 can definately run fallout properly yet it still has alot of the same problems skyrim does. its pretty obvious that its bethesda's fault. maybe they should have developed with multiple platforms in mind instead of just thinking about xbox.
