Forums - Politics - Why would organizations warning of voter fraud on billboards not identify themselves?

Apparently the signs slipped through.  Company policy is supposeed to be whomever is paying for the signs is supposed to identify themselves.

As far as death threats go, moment you get any, they get you increased media coverage and police protection.  Plus the police go and hunt the culprits down.  For political reasons, which is what drove the signs being up, this is a net political positive.  First side to get to death threats loses.

If your main strategy is to drive attention to yourself for current or future political gain then you probably want to engage in a political stunt which will draw negative attention to yourself or your family; in contrast, if you just want to make a statement you probably don't want the world to know who you are.

Essentially, this is the same reason why you will see many bloggers who blog anonymously.

Given all of the actually murdered abortion doctors out there, i'd say its the conservatives who are carrying out more of the political violence.

Conservative bloggers are the new targets of a series of “SWAT-ing” attacks — a decade-old hoax used to draw a SWAT team to the door of a political enemy.

It’s a bizarre series of events that’s consuming prominent conservative web sites, pitting conservative writers against a former federal convict — or his backers — who says he isn’t even familiar with SWAT-ing: an elaborate practical joke in which SWAT teams are falsely sent to someone’s home after a violent crime is reported. Those behind the SWAT-ing often mask their actual phone numbers, making the calls appear to originate from within the victim’s home.

...

“There’s been hundreds of SWAT-ing instances where SWAT teams have come up to innocent third parties,” he said. “It’s putting innocent people at risk. It’s just a matter of time that we believe someone could get hurt.”

In the current hyper partisan political environment it is dangerous to speak out publicly, and the only reason to do so is if you will gain personally from doing so.

I'm sure sending heavily armed SWAT to someone's house with the belief thay they commited a violent crime could no way end up going wrong.

I didn't say it wasn't dangerous (many pranks are), but there's a world of difference against going out and assaulting someone.

okay how about the fact that pretty much any conservative speaker has to get an armed detail, every time they go to an university. or people like rush limbaugh needs a bomb squad on call. pretty much an conservative talk show host/personality needs full time security.

or just look at the difference between occupy and tea party rallies. one is a peaceful civilized event the other a rat hole, drug filled, rape/murder/steal every other dat event.

also abortion clinic bombings are extremely rare not to mention if you give it much thought. their reasoning behind it is reasonable even though still not justifiable. the stakes are much higher for them, as they feel they are savings thousands of children by killing murderers. its still wrong what they do, but think about this. what if a business opened up accross the street, and its purpose was for parents to send in their kids they dont like to get euthanized. do you think you would be upset about that place of business and want to do something about it?

Do they actually use those armed details, though?

Is there evidence of a conservative personality getting physically attacked?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

How is it racism? Last I checked committing voter fraud is not stereotypical of any particular ethnicity.

Voter fraud is an actual problem just like any kind of fraud.

Next you'll say that the billboards that caution against drunk driving is insensitive to alcoholics. Only an alcoholic would get pissed about a drunk driving sign.

yes. anne coulter comes to mind. also the fact that numerous speaking event had to be cancelled because the university couldnt ensure the saftey of the conservative speakers. this happens a lot. the conservative isnt allowed to speak because the open minded and tolerant liberals become too unruley to ensure the saftey of every one. and boy does it get scary when a black man like walter williams decide to think for himself and dare not be a democrat.

sorry for bad grammar, im writing on my phone
