If we consider their opinion as fact, then this thread isn't necessary, we can just compare Vita and 3DS based on Metacritic scores.

i was refering to the N64 having better games but far less good games (a situation that imo is not happening with the Vita/3DS right now as some people might have suggested on the Vita official forum)

PD: the N64 has the best SRPG the world has ever seen, Ogre battle 64, you should try that out, you wont be disappointed
Also Aydn chronicles was a fairly ambitious wRPG as well, have you tried that one?
and how many FPS did the PSX have? Quake 2 and TWINE? ;)

im only saying that is about personal tastes, SOny fans say the Vita, Nintendo fans the 3DS, thats what you want? it could even be labeled as flaming ;)

Hmm, that is a tough question. If I compare PSP with the DS, the PSP is the clear winner: There was nothing that could compete with Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core and Final Fantasy Dissidia for me. That were 3 Games that could have been on the PS2. Maybe that was the reason why Square neglected the PS3 so far... they were busy developing for the PSP.

Ok, now for the next generation. At the moment I do not own a 3DS or the Vita. But i will certainly buy both of them as soon as the Software is there.

Vita Games, that I am interested in:
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (strong interest)
Touch my Katamari (Katamari was always very funny)

.

There are only 2 games for this console that I would buy at the moment. There are more games, but i already own Disgaea3 or Rayman Origins, etc for the PS3. Dynasty Warriors would be interesting, but I prefer playing them splitscreen with my wife.... The PS3 is a strong competitor of the Vita, it seems. But there is Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation coming, which will also be very interesting.

Ok, now the 3DS:

1) Kingdom Hearts 3D (I will buy a 3DS with this game this Christmas - so it is a system seller for me)
2)Resident Evil - Revelations (I really like Resident Evil main games)
3) Super Mario 3D Land
4) New Super Mario Bros 2

There are some old remakes Like Zelda, but I have to be fair. I did not count some Vita Games because I own the PS3 version.

Well, if I factor in Assassin's Creed for the Vita it is almost a tie for me. Kingdom Hearts makes the difference for me, so at the moment I prefer the 3DS. So this year I will get a 3DS and next year the Vita.

But to be honest... the 3DS is not that impressive too although it had a headstart over the Vita. And to be honest, I have to decuct some points of the 3DS because I dislike the touch screen/stylus and the 3D. Why can't Nintendo just make conventional controls. Those gimmicks like the Wii mote or the stylus often lead to annoying mini games that hurt the flow of the game and that get repetitive very quickly.

I somehow think, that the Vita will have the more impressive games in two years from now. With this graphical capabilities the Vita will be competitive for 10 years easily. Maybe we will really see the last generation of consoles because I do think that we have reached the level where better graphics do not benefit the game experience substantially any more.

Yeah its a bit unfair seeing as the 3DS has been on the market for almost a year longer. Its the Vita's 8 month in the West, so lets compare it to what the 3DS had by its 8 months in the west.

3DS: Street Fighter 4, Zelda: OOT 3D, Dead or Alive, STARFOX 3D, RE: Mercinaries

VITA: Uncharted GA, Gravity Rush, Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid HD collection, Marvel vs Capcom 3

If we were to extend it to the end of the year then it would look like this.

3DS: Mario Kart 7, Mario Land 3D

VITA: Street Fighter x Tekken, Assassins Creed Liberation, Ratchet and Clank, PS All stars, COD: Declassified. Unfortunately we don't know if any of these games are good yet.

I feel with the holiday lineups the vita has a lot of quality games but the 3DS has better quality games. I'd say the great games will be as follows:

3DS:
-Paper Mario Sticker Star
-Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
-Epic Mickey Power of Illusion

Vita:
-Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation

(P4 is a remake, Rayman, Street Fighter x tekken, CoD and PSASBR will likely be better on consoles and ragnarok, silent hill and harvest moon will likely be at most good but not great)

I came to this thread and got what I expected it to turn out. Why are people even trying to make these threads?
