The only way I could see them pulling it off is if they make "New Legend of Zelda," which, as weird as it might sound, I could see them doing...

There where rumors that they were doing just that after the sucess of the NSMB on the Wii, but nothing came of it so far.

It's possible. But they would have to overhaul all the art assets basically reskinning the game. As long as there is a emuator that is able to run NES code, since it is backward compatible with the Wii, that would be the only thing that needs to be changed to make it HD.

That's not what he meant. He meant completely re-making the original LOZ into a modern 3D game, displayed in HD.

I would be happy if they would actually get Zelda 2 (VC) to finally run on my new TV. I bought the game and now cannot play it.

If they do that, they should keep it being 2D with the same perspective and just upgrade the graphics.

But "A Link To The Past" would be a better candidate. Some fans even have imagined it.

Then yeah I don't see Nintendo doing that. They may do a reskining. Though the last game they done it with to my knowledge was Super Mario Brothers when they put it into the All Star collection. (Though you can call the Classic 3D games on the 3DS as a reskining of sorts.) Other wise it would just be easier to make a new Zelda since you would almost have to start from the ground up.

Why would anyone want this? It would be an entirely different game then if they changed it that much.

Don't think the would or should do a 3D HD LoZ-remake. What they should do is marry Old Zelda (2D) with New Zelda (3D). It would sell like hot cakes!!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

2.5D? Kind of like Yoshi's Story, that may look nice maybe make it an eShop title.

Nintendo should leave the 2D Zelda games like they are now, no need to change them imo. I would like HD remakes of 3D Zelda games, I'm just imagining Wind Waker in HD *drools*. Twilight Princess with the art style of the Zelda tech demo back in E3 2011 will also be amazing *drools again*

No, I was more thinking in line of 3D Zelda with more of the 2D Zelda game play; make it harder; don't hold your hand the whole game through; don't say 'here's the first dungeon'

that kind of stuff
