Which weapon do you use Runa? You may just need a better weapon or to refine the one you have more. If you need help I can kill in for you tho. The first time you fight him feels a bit like a gear check bc even tho I didn't have a problem avoiding death I just couldn't do enough damage to beat him in time

I'm a cleric, so I use maces and stuff.  my attack is 90 something and I have guard training and Strong Sanctuary 1.  (my sanctuary spell does 1600 healing total!  It's awesome.)  

Like I said, the boss is an absolute joke, except when he does that chest poundy move followed by a bellyflop, which does like 2500 damage, which is how much health I have.  it's rather annoying.  And yes, I have upgraded my weapon and armor to the maximum they are able to.

*laughs*  that's hilarious, but no.  If that was the case I'd have given Dissidia 2 a 1.  That game was frustrating as fuck.

Nah, you can accept gifts from any region, also I sold my Asia version in favor of the US PSN version. must be near, I often need to manualy download stuff from near before they appear even though I have auto download on. weird.

Since you said you're in chapter 5, I'm assuming you're refering to the chapter 5 grendel where you have to beat him without the benefit of the base to take his attention off of you.

Since its that attack that gets you, here's what too look out for. You'll know that he's about to pump his chest and send those sweat flying around when he does a muscle man pose where he has both arms in the air and trying to flex his bicepts. when you see that animation, dash away for dear life. there are occations when he will not attack but he will be trying to follow and corner you. best thing to do is to try and lead him to the center of the map and then approach him, he will either do an elbow smash or do that muscle flex thingy and then start pumping his chest. either way, just dash away.

If you cant avoid it, its best to have a stun resist card or on your weapon, this way you wont get stunned if you're not able to run away fast enough. if you get hit by his sweats, it will act as a homing device and when he jumps for the belly flop, he will home in to your location. very hard to avoid as he is one huge fucker. but it is avoidable, how? just jump up as high as you can. (double or trip jump). you'll avoid his belly flop and you will land next to him.

easy peasy. I has majesty up on near. If you've figured out how to accept gifts using the angeling in your room, just dl the card. It will boost your attack greatly. But keep in mind, if and when you know down opponents to the ground, you will do 1 damage ahahahaha!

Oh, I know how to avoid him, I know how to avoid it and how he prepares for it, but sometimes I don't see the warning, and he's smacking his chest before I have the chance to avoid it.  

ah, what you need is a stun resist skill then. or just go online and party with some folks like MUGEN and Robo.

now there's your problem. Having 90 ATTK against Grendel wont cut it. If guard training and strong sanctuary 1 are cards, drop em and equipt attack up cards. if its on the weapon, drop the weapon infavor of a weapon with higher attack stat, preferably with attack up skill. You wont  need sanctuary against grendel as you really wont have enough time to cast it. Just use potions.

keep in mind that if you influct enough damage to Grendel and he is near death, he often starts spamming his more stronger and anoying attacks. the same holds true for most if not all boss monsters. When they get beaten up, they change tactics and start spaming thier stupidly annoying attacks.

So, being able to dish out more damage is key.
