Watching numbers go up is in a gamers blood. No matter how boring the game, increasing numbers get out blood pumping ;)

Yeah, if there's little to no air temperature does not mean much. Even on the thermosphere were particles are over 1000º C a thermometer would mark several degrees below zero.

Since it's going to get colder and the air denser... it's going to get much colder than you can see just looking at the thermometer.
