Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo should do this on the Wii

I've been thinking, since the Wii can connect to the Internet and all, could Nintendo add bonuses from registered games on Nintendo.com so you can use them on Wii and Nintendo DS games? Think about it. If you register, say, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl for DS on their site, go online with the Wii, you are able to download a character or two to your DS games to use. Or with a Wii game, you do the same. It would probably have the 'patch' (reward for registering and owning a game) stored on a special memory card or SD card that can be downloaded and added to your games. Could that be an idea Nintendo could do? It would make your worth of purchasing/registering a game with bonuses.

Around the Network

I don't see why this couldn't be done. If there serious about it though maybe a registration channel to expedite the registration/download.

To be honest this seems pointless. The extra features should be included without registration. The amount of games played w/o reg. is very few if you consider rentals/ppl borrowing games from friends. The only big thing that this would affect is piracy. But even that would have workarounds. When Bungie released the Halo 2 mappacks they had a downloadble ISO up for pirates almost immediately.

it'd be cool

nice idea
