It will take one more year.

I was actually going to say next Christmas at first. Because the 360 is bound to pick up this holiday as well and they have some big games coming out, but then I researched the Vita line up and it does not look as bad as some say in the weekly sales chartz. So I picked Summer.

The gap between the Vita and The Xbox is about 600k now if the keeps selling at this rate is should take 49 weeks to catch it so I said one year, maybe a little less. I don´t know the Japanese Christmas Habits.

So then if the 360 flopped that means the Vita certainly has not flopped since it is about to pass it after only a year and a half of being available for purchase. Right?

No. A year and a half is a long time for a system to only sell around 1.7m units in Japan. Currently, the Vita is matching the sales of the Dreamcast which also belongs in the category of flopped consoles.

It's too soon to make a definite call on whether the Vita is a flop or not, but right now it's leaning more towards flop than a system with a healthy future. Its upcoming lineup is lacking and it's performing well below Sony's expectations.

Matching? Isn't it trailing behind the DC now? And the gap is widening!

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

If you base the numbers off of the current estimation of 15k Vita sold per week, and approximately 600 xbox360 sold per week, Vita will overtake the 360 in less than a years time. Although, I believe we will see a surge in Vita consumption within the next 5-7 months. So theoretically, it could only take 5-7 months!

PSVita can be saved by price cut and big games for flop but xbox brand even with price cut and big exclusive it can`t be saved from flop

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

In Japan, how big were Capcom's marketing efforts for Resident Evil: Revelations in comparison to Resident Evil 5, RE6 or even RE: Operation Raccoon City?

RE5 had quite a lot I believe. That's why I ended up picking it up for the 360 when I hadn't really planned on it. Revelations had some, but definitely not as much as re5 and it basically disappeared once the game released. I picked it up because I heard good things about it from other forum posters, unlike with re5.

RE6 seems like it has a lot. There were commercials for it for quite a long while before the game even released. Plus the beta for it as well (included with Dragon's Dogma I believe.)

ORC I have no clue as I didn't really pay attention to it at all.

This will happen next summer. Of course, imagining Vita won't have a great holiday season, because these games on the list won't help it too much and I'm pretty sure of that.

Vita HAS games. But none of them is a killer app (at least in Japan).

We need moar Zelda, now!

We need moar Unchartedzz!

We need less DLCs.

Not long but like someone else said its not saying much.

1) Spring or summer of next year sounds about right.

2) What this says about the 360 is that it flopped in Japan. A fact that is accepted by everyone.

3) Last week the 360 sold around 5k units which would increase its total to 1.61m at most, not 1.66m.

4) That's a list of about a dozen games for the final three months of the year which is missing a big holiday title, so it isn't a decent lineup, much less so a good one.

So then if the 360 flopped that means the Vita certainly has not flopped since it is about to pass it after only a year and a half of being available for purchase. Right?

Both are flops, but flops on different levels ...

Systems surprise when the holidays come around Just watch how good the wii does even though it has not reason to do so other than price and library.

Well bad example, but the holidays could be good for it!

The Wii has a great library of games now and will be cheaper as ever this holiday. I think it is possible that more Wiis will be sold than Vita ...
