Forums - PC Discussion - Squadron 42 - Star Citizen Trailer - Chris Roberts space flight sim, Wing Commander, Freelancer etc $7m+ total raised

The irony about this kickstarter project is that it was started by a millionaire. You got your extra money, Mr. Roberts.

Annnd it's over! I look forward to reviving Star Citizen interest when the beta comes out so we can all play together!

These are the final stats:

Goal: $2,000,000
Raised: $6,237,103

RSI: $4,102,729 Kickstarter: $2,134,374

Total Space Sim Fans: 89,650

RSI: 55,253 Kickstarter: 34,397

kickstarter is over but i think people can still buy packs and a couple of subscriptions $10/20 a month,i bet they get quite a few more extra dollars

we get some sort of lifetime insurance or something and can add at old prices but the site went into maintenance when i was looking, yep you'll have to bump the tgread if we get a beta

Monthly subscriptions? What's that?

Did you pledge btw?

The game will contain absolutely zero subscription options.

You can, however, "subscribe" the funding of the game. Basically, if you really wanted to help fund this game but you cannot put down a huge amount at one time, they're giving you the option to give them funding money on a monthly basis. I'm 99% certain you get no benefits for this. (I have no idea why anyone would do this).

Now the long wait starts, 2 years to go. I'll definitely need a new pc by then, as I'm assuming they'll target pc hardware of 2014 for this.

and they already made another $100+k with people pledging after the campaign is over

Really? They still allow pledging through their own site?

yea, but people who jump aboard now obviously don't get all the goddies we received during campaign time

I'm excited by this game, but only because of the occulus rift tie-in. IMO, that's what makes it truly remarkable.

yea, the occulus rift is perfect for this and I hope the consumer version of the rift will have a higher resolution display (they said it will end up being considerably more high tech than the dev version they kickstarted)

btw they already are at $7million now with over 100k "pledges"(more like pre-buys)
