That's also as a % of GDP while the OP is not.

Yes, true. It's a much more useful graph all the way around.

Don't you know who controls congress only matters when a Democrat is president and did something wrong?

Seriously though, I wish people would make up their mind about President vs Congress.

Democrat/Republican...different wings on the same bird.

This whole bickering back and forth is everything they want you to do.

I'm not convinced that they're essentially the same, but if watching American politics has taught me anything it is that the most dedicated partisans are the people who are ignored the most by either political party ... The two party political system seems to reward independent voters and swing states, and demographics that can be "counted on" to vote one way or the other seem to be punished.

More specifically, the 2 parties only vary by a little.   Spending, wars, budgets, foreign policy....all the same.  What they differ on are things that tend to get handled at the state level anyway.

The point is that they get everybody focused on being one or the other such that they'll always have everything they want with those first few policies I mentioned.  They don't want anybody thinking 3rd party because that would ruin everything they've worked so hard to establish....and control.

Think of it this way, when was the last time R's or D's  actually repealed the laws of the other?   Doesn't happen very often at all does it?   So for all the back and forth they do, they end up perpetuating the same things and repealing nothing.

We got a D in the White House.  What changed?   After running on a campaign of Change...what changed?   Not a damn thing.

It's the same with both sides. You are just clearly set on one side so you only think it's coming from the other. If you were in the middle you'd see how both sides do and say the same stuff.

Oh and don't even try to claim you're a moderate. You sig and your avatar as left of center as you can get.

This pretty much explains what I was going to say.  It's really not hard to find made up statistics to support your claim.  I could say that George W. Bush reduced more debt than any other president and if I looked hard enough I could probably find some kind of statistic that supports it.  In my opinion, it's pretty pointless to listen to any kind of politics on the major news stations because they are always going to manipulate the stats to a certain party's favor.  The only way to properly decide is to watch the debates (and even that is a little sketchy since half the time either candidate just bashes the other instead of actually talking about how he or she is going to run the country).

We should form a club. It would get hate from all sides because nobody likes truth if it is in opposition to their fantasy.

Haha, it would self-destruct before it ever began.

I have taken a break off this site as of late, due to the warning on my profile pic. I was on a protest from this site, My pic was to sexual, however there was no sex, no nudity or no anything but a hot chick with a bikini......... Holy cow conservatives on this site own the mod so don't go liking sexy pics anymore. Just talk about it in great detail. which is funny because there was a massive thread on anal sex, that went on and on but that didn't cross the line but my pic did. WTF!

I have come back to read up and one thing keeps popping up every single time. Everytime numbers come out in republicans corner , they are real numbers and they are to be trusted. As soon as the data goes against them, it's false and useless data. Polls where in Obama's favor, the polls are flawed. As soon as they turn in there favor, oh look at the polls, obama sucks. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO........

Jobs report comes out, Oh the data is wrong, every single thing that is against us is wrong. So thats our proof but before that we used the 8% unemployment to rip on people on the web.

So I have to say that just like fox news. This site seems to follow every drum beat they set. So are they delusional or do they just work or follow everysingle move of fox news? It's getting rather sad. facts don't matter to those on this site, they use only data that supports them. If I where you I wouldn't even consider the fact checking but rather consider it as  biased picking of the facts and ruled out by anything that destroys there ideals.

I like how your graph cuts off before Obama, who has about the same debt as every previous president combined.

But no...I think the delusional people are the ones who think there is a real difference between Republican and Democrats. They're the same party supported by the same banks and businesses. The differences are minimal. Both Obama and Romney will mean debt spending.

Fox news are definitely delusional but I would like to think some republicans have some sort of common sense, but I don't know. All I know is fox news like to make a big deal out of anything, the democrats do or say and scare the people into believing anything they say, which is basically republican propaganda

How is this any different from MSNBC or the Democrats propaganda?

I would support people who were against biased news or propaganda in general, but most people who oppose Fox News and Republican propaganda are only opposed to it because they're on the opposite end of the political spectrum; and they support the propaganda machine on their side of the political spectrum.

I only ever mentioned fox because that what the thread was mentioning, i'm not saying MSNBC or any news channel for that matter is unbiased, of course they are in some way. It would be better though if politics had some truth to it, if politicians were honest on what they would do if elected. All these news channels seem to do, is represent people who think a like to them. eg fox/msnbc are conservative while CNN are more liberal on matters. I don't know but I think these channels should be forced to change their names for example from fox news to fox opinion, because that what it really is, it is not news at all.

But people themselves are biased, they just see things their own way. i'm the first to admit that. You even see this in countries, russians see the world very differently to americans. But i don't think, we can't help being biased in some way, news should be different though

Er.... MSNBC is extremely liberal.

Their station tagline is "lean foward."

MSNBC and CNN are both liberal leaning.
