Nintendo's "6 month launch window". November the 18th till march the 31st is 4 and a half months. You have Distorted the facts to try and have a mild dig at nintendo or you are simply atrocious at maths, which one is it?

i highly doubt  "by on Oct 8th 2012 10:00AM" from joystiq will be responding to you...

It's unlikely that I would have gotten it before next year anyway (if I get it) so I'm fine with this.

I still haven't played Origins...
So I'm pretty okay with this...
Plus it's one less sixty dollar title to choose from at launch...
Making the choice much easier...

Have a nice day...

I still don't get why this is WiiU exclusive, but whatever... if I get a WiiU I'll end up buying this anyway, lol.

I would bet money on this being a timed exclusive.

Why Rayman Legends is a Wii U exclusive

October 7th, 2012 Posted in News, Posted by Valay, Wii U

Ubisoft says that Rayman Legends technically could have been made for other platforms. The Xbox 360 with its SmartGlass technology, and the PlayStation 3 and Vita link, would both be viable options.

But according to level designer Chris McEntee, who spoke with Nintendo Power this month, “we chose to really focus on Wii U specifically because it has a special toolset, and because everyone that buys it gets what they need to play the game.”

“Well, technically we could to it with SmartGlass [for Xbox 360] and with the Vita being linked to the PlayStation 3. The possibility could be there, but we chose to really focus on Wii U specifically because it has a special toolset, and because everyone that buys it gets what they need to play the game.”

McEntee then added:

“We don’t want to have the player dependent on other technology that they have to purchase to make sure they can play the full experience. Here you buy the Wii U system, you buy the game, and you can experience all of the content without extras. And we didn’t want to give somebody half of the experience just for the sake of getting it out on another console. We want the player to get everything that we have to offer them from this game.”

I think missing holidays is a mistake, especially after how well the last one sold, but maybe its better not to go head to head with Mario

Fine by me.

Gives me another game to pick up after the holiday once I'm done with the launch titles I'm grabbing. It's also good for Rayman, since it won't be releasing alongside NSMBU.

I think it's fine. NSMBU was going to cannibalize its sales if both were side by side for Christmas.

This way Rayman can cash in when people have played through their first round of Wii U titles and want something else to play. And the extra few months of polish shouldn't hurt the game either.

I think it`s for the best. Mario would be too much of a competition and releasing next year gives it a better chance to sell more seeing as it won`t be as crowded as launch - i think!

I was gutted when I found out about this, but like a lot of people are saying there were so many launch games I want to play that it was getting a little crowded anyway. So hopefully this will 'smooth' out my release schedule a bit.

It is in the OP.
