Interesting that Forza Horizon almost has as much preorders as LBP karting and PASBR

Forza is also releasing 4 weeks before pasbr and 2 weeks before LBP

Plus the little big planet game is aimed for mainly kids so expect some legs

Kids like real cars too. Forza has legs too, mainly bundle legs :P

But only 4 weeks away is no excuse for a 3rd string spinoff (Forza) to be almost matching the 2 biggest PS3 exclusives for the holidays.

What matters are the games themselves, not if there are other bigger or smaller exclusives coming out. PSABR is a new IP and LBP: Karting is a spin-off, as is Forza Horizon, which is why none of them are seeing great pre-orders. Don't forget that 360 has a lead of several million units in America

Based on that logic The Last of Us will bomb hard. Im sure if they were higher youd tell me that gamers took notice and are hyped. Basically.....theres always an excuse you or me could formulate based on any given information.

But it astounds me that given how PS3 is praised for its exclusives above all else, its 2 leading titles this holiday are tracking individually behind a Forza spinoff. I dont even need to refer to Halo 4 to make my point.

Its just confusing data no matter how you slice it.

The last of us is different, because it's being made by Naught Gods. The holiday lineup for PS3 (exclusives) is just not good enough this year. They are releasing games that will not have huge first-week sales but might leg it to some decent sales. I personally haven't seen anyone praising the holiday lineup for PS3 this year, but the 3rd party lineup is one of the best we've seen so it makes up for it. Nobody buys Sony exclusives anyway, right?

I might just save this quote. A rare treasure of a post indeed. By this I mean your admission. Such talk on Youtube would have you shunned and flagged :P

You seem to be implying that because ps3 fans praise some exclusives, then that means they praise all exclusives. Even worse, you're suggesting that praise translates well to real-world success. That's simply flawed thinking. Nothing is confusing about the data. Yes, ps3 fans like some of the ps3 exclusives (that's probably automatic for fans of any console). Yes, the PS3 has a seemingly weak holiday this year. Where's the confusion?

Youtube comments are so horrible in general I'm surprised you use them as a barometer for anything.

Well regardless I think our lttle debate just ran its course. Hope those 2 games have legs. They deserve more then what were seeing.

Im not implying, I guarantee you that all exclusives get praise.Im suggesting they they "want" their praise to translate into real world success, stemming from a near universal belief both on and off the internet that Sony has more diversity in their IPs. You dont have to tell me that their thinking is flawed....I have always been a believer that internet hype should match the real world.

Its confusing because its the holidays, the biggest shopping season of the year. These numbers look like they are being released in APRIL.Its confusing that Sony even "seemingly" has a weak holiday lineup. Dont they have all these developement studios at their disposal? Where was the hindsight and resource management? What big shot at Sony decided that the 2012 holidays would only have a untested IP and a spinoff as the biggest and ONLY exclusives to distinguish the competition?

Something doesnt add up, both at management and at the gamer level. I think The Last of Us was meant to the the "Big Gun" this year, but luckily no dates were official and it was easily declared as a 2013 game. But thats another thread all together.

No excuse? You make it seem like someone here has claimed that the PS3 will have big sellers every year. The 'excuse' is PABR and LBP Karting won't be big games by a longshot.

Its in my other post. I thought it was common sense that The Big 3 would have at least 1 big seller every year. Its only makes perfect business sense. With Sonys resources and studios, its hard to think they deliberately "wrote off" this holiday by not releasing any true big guns.

All exclusives? Really? Like Socom 4, Haze, Lair, plenty of Move games, etc. Yeah, those games had enormous praise.

sure, they want their hype to translate to real world sales....so what? The same can be said for any fan.

Also, I'm not sure why you believe internet hype should translate to real world hype. The internet is not even remotely representative of the real world..

Sony just has a weak year for software. Simple as that. It happens. One could infer that they're saving their studios for the much more important holiday which is when the PS4 launches.

1. Some are working on Vita games.

2. Some are working on games for 2013 (ND, Santa Monica, Quantic Dream)

3. Some are working on PS4 games

Seems odd is all. This year is the home stretch, the last hurrah. WiiU is coming out and 360 is gonna release Halo 4, the last big 360 exclusive. Sony is doing their home stretch in 2013 for PS3, when WiiU is gaining momentum and MS is stealing hype for their upcoming console.I dunno.....just poor resource management IMO.
