Im not implying, I guarantee you that all exclusives get praise.Im suggesting they they "want" their praise to translate into real world success, stemming from a near universal belief both on and off the internet that Sony has more diversity in their IPs. You dont have to tell me that their thinking is flawed....I have always been a believer that internet hype should match the real world. Its confusing because its the holidays, the biggest shopping season of the year. These numbers look like they are being released in APRIL.Its confusing that Sony even "seemingly" has a weak holiday lineup. Dont they have all these developement studios at their disposal? Where was the hindsight and resource management? What big shot at Sony decided that the 2012 holidays would only have a untested IP and a spinoff as the biggest and ONLY exclusives to distinguish the competition? Something doesnt add up, both at management and at the gamer level. I think The Last of Us was meant to the the "Big Gun" this year, but luckily no dates were official and it was easily declared as a 2013 game. But thats another thread all together. |
All exclusives? Really? Like Socom 4, Haze, Lair, plenty of Move games, etc. Yeah, those games had enormous praise.
sure, they want their hype to translate to real world sales....so what? The same can be said for any fan.
Also, I'm not sure why you believe internet hype should translate to real world hype. The internet is not even remotely representative of the real world..
Sony just has a weak year for software. Simple as that. It happens. One could infer that they're saving their studios for the much more important holiday which is when the PS4 launches.
