yeah was thinking not only will the complete edition of this game ship loads but the ps4 will hopefully be backwards compatible and that'll mean this game will still be shipping far beyond the life of it's original console even. (this based on GT games not normally being a launch game of the playstation)

I have seen many sentiments like the OP before. Its a few years away but people today are seemingly counting down the days until this happens.

I think your post nailed down their motivations. PS3 is the only console that hasnt got a 10 million+ selling exclusive and they wanna join the ranks it seems :P



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

GT4 had GT3 on the same console, so it's natural that GT5 sells more. If GT5 didn't sell more, it would be horrible sales for a GT game.

Year over year comparison.

Jan to Oct.

2011: 1,253,129
2012: 807,078

Mar to Oct.

2011: 473,317
2012: 522.062

I think GT5 is set to sell this year the same amout it sold last year... it's selling better excluding the launch window.

You didnt deny my observation....

But yes, I do believe it will reach 10 million. It sold 800k this year alone so far and that in itself is impressive. Id say sub million sales in 13. Legs depend on Next gen consoles, especially when the PS4 hits. But yes, id give it 2.5 years to 3.

Let me guess. It's OK to praise the game sales, as Ethomaz did, but it's a no no if I say the sales are disappointing for a GT game?

What do you mean by the bolded? Do you think the total of 2012 will be equal to the total of 2011? Or are you saying Oct-Dec of 2012 will be equal Oct-Dec of 2011?

Anyway, thanks for the data. Gives some perspective.

Total for the year is to be near... for now to the end of the year GT5 will shell 300-350k more than it did last year.

~1.7 million (900k to go in 13 weeks).

Crazy prediction lol  but I have the bundle on my side .
