Honestly, I don't think it'll really catch on until you can get cheap screens that do 3D without glasses OR a loss in graphical quality elsewhere.
Fact: Anything 3D related appart from Avatar is a fad.
3D gaming is about as useful as a 12 inch pecker on the Pope.
