Forums - Gaming - Resident Evil 6 reviews are not so funny! 30% from Destructoid lol

It's really annoying that reviews suddenly differ so much. 30% to 92% is a pretty big range of emotion and I can't see how you can objectively defend both scores at the same time.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

@Ben the reviews sit at 71 with all of them count. You said take out the bottom two and it goes up quite a bit... 3 percent is quite a bit? (It goes up to 74) and if you take out those two you might as well take out the top two also. Which brings it down to 72... a whole point above where its at now.

I called this..
Shinji Mikami, please come back for save this franchise.

How can you objectively defend arbitrary scoring systems, even if they're within 2 points of one another? They're arbitrary and that's further compounded by the whims of the reviewer in question, and his editor.

The thing you need to look at here is the trend. If the trend is all moving in one direction then you have a pretty good idea whether the 3-4-5s are 'true' or just outliers.

(Naturally this only counts for pre-release scores--once everyone in the world can review it they're going to be massively-influenced by conventional wisdom since people, on the whole, are sheep and want to be part of the herd.)

I always discard Jim Sterling reviews. He's terrible at videogames but good at sensationalism.

Remove that, and I think we're dealing with a 75 or so level game. What I'm reading in most reviews is that there some good elements and some bad elements. It's like they tried to do too many things with an RE title. It sounds like a mish-mash. Still, it seems like Leon's campaign is good, and that there are a lot of crazy moments, so I feel like it's probably worth playing.

Although, I do get the impression that Resident Evil is no longer in the 'survival horror' genre.

You can tell this is gonna be one hell of a polarizing game.

Only an impression, haha?...I guess you can call it a fact.

The Japanese developers really REALLY need to stop listening to western gamers taste. They are slowly destroying all of there mainstay IP's.

Final Fantasy
Casatlevania
Tekken
Dead or Alive
Soul Calibur
