I thought Germany had the lowest piracy rate. However, I think the larger size of the UK makret makes up for it.

I wonder if these PC games wold do better if they targeted the capabilities of a typical PC instead of trying to pressure people into buying $500 video cards.

well actually the European Union but its between Sweden, the UK, and Germany for top PC country out of the 28.

Maybe people would buy Crysis if it didn't cause their CPUs/GPUs to melt into lava.

Welcome back ckmlb..
Leo, if the PS3 version of UT3 doesn´t sell very good either, what makes you think that Crytek wants to loose more money downgrading Crysis just for the PS3??? If by any chances happens the 360 version will come first (Large User base, DX9, PC-Like arquitecture...)
Epic and Crytek usually are safe selling their engines... but yeah, this time the games sold very bad...

If you are talking about the user base, well
Japan: Meh, they don´t love shooters...
America: They love shooters..
EU: Well I don´t know...
Total: 360 Has the largest user base with shooter lovers... and is bigger than the PS3 total user base...
Crytek is going to be fine by selling its engine to other companies so there isn't really any loss here for them. Aside from that if they are smart they should understand that the way Crysis has made high end rigs cry out in pain will make it the defacto game testing standard for a while so sales, while they may never be what they wanted, will continue at a steady rate.
If they haven't done so already it wouldn't hurt to get Crysis available for download on steam also.
You can say the same about Epic and their engine as well, they just won't have the bump from being known as a game that makes your PC cry.
