I'm sure there are secret characters and Superbot don't want to spoil the surprise but a FF character should have been part of the starting roster.

As is the list is great and is a day one for me solely because of Nathan Drake.

However I can almost guarantee more characters are to come. Kat from Gravity Rush has supposedly been spotted in an official image from SuperBot and from a few potentially faked images leaked online. From the official image it is hard to know for sure it is her but we can tell it's not one of the already listed 20 characters. Either the game is being shipped with hidden unlockable characters or they are money hungry and have DLC already made.

Also no Crash...

Either way, with the sole exception of Evil Cole, I don't think the First Party characters list is bad, not at all. Some omissions, like Wanderer, but it's ok, it's solid.

What I do think it's bad is the lack of any significant japanese character. One Cloud or Lightning (or Snake or a guy from Yakuza, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter) here and this game would have a better chance of selling in japan - making my prediction a bit easier.

And all third party characters, with the exception of Heihachi feel more like marketing ploy to their future games than truly deserving a place in the game too. Is there third party stages too like Smash?

There Better be secret characters

Ugh. It's so slapdash. Some of it is brilliant (PaRappa!) and some of it is just trash (Radec, Evil Cole, "Dante").

I was wondering why they would show nothing at TGS and Eurogamer Expo. Oh well. This will only destroy pre-order numbers even more.

This is a pretty good start. I mean look at Super Smash started out with only 12 characters and slowly worked its way up to 36.
