Some do, some don't. Roughly 30-40 million fans of the sport in the states depending on what metrics you use. Some watch domestic league, some follow foriegn leagues and some watch international play. Not like a country of 300+ million would all feel one way about anything, there are half a dozen sports with support here.

Last report from EA show both over 10 millions... I guess FIFA 12 have a little advantage in long term sales so I think FIFA 12 already sold more than Battlefield 3.
