Wait... X360 was discontinued in Japan last year.

I read something about the Xbox 360 prodution in Japan was stopped due the low retail orders.

Possible, but they might be trying to appeal to the Japanese before the Wii U is out, as Xbox is not popular over there

They have a Kinect price cut coming on october 4th as well in new zealand. maybe at minimum they are doing a minor cut worldwide except perhaps europe as the competition there isn't fierce on price.

October should see price drops from MS and Sony. After all, gotta kill the buzz for Wii U as well as be ready for Holiday shopping. (which technically begins in October for US)

Unlikely for Microsoft to cut in NA since they are leading here. Maybe they'll cut on Wii U launch....who knows.

We will see. Unless the Wii U hurts the sales of the 360, I don't think they will drop the price until they anounce the next Xbox. Though it would be nice if they dropped the non-kinect bundles and piced the kinect bundles $100 cheaper.

didn't MS say they weren't going to support Japan anymore...maybe they're just getting rid of their current stock...hopefully it does get a price cut WW as I need a new 360 since mine fell down the stairs(don't ask)

not sure what they said but this bundle is a new bundle which as example uk also got few days ago.
