So Dungeon Fighters Online apparently suprassed 3 million users online at thes ame time... and is the leader in that regard.

Seems crazy to me.

Since it's essentially Golden Axe.  Not even a huge casual type game that you'd expect to bring in all crowds.

Nor to my knowelge, though I haven't played it much... is a game like Ragnorak Online where someone might keep there character logged for 20+ hours just so there item shop is always open.

Anyone know what i'm missing here.   Is it just that people like 2D brawlers that much?

Well, that's great.
Now I wished they weren't so asshole about it and released this thing in Europe.

Oh well, at least there's still Rusty Hearts.
And yes, those kind of games are fun, think simplified Devil May Cry with co-op.

It appeals to Asians, and there are a lot of those.

DFO has somewhere near 300,000,000 registered users, and has generated over $2b in revenues since it came out. Crazy stuff. 3 million concurrent users has to be nearly a record for an online MMO, I'd think.

From what I remember it's just your average SNES goldenaxe clone... but with items.

It was fun and all, but something abut it wasn't completely engaging with me.
