There is nothing in that to suggest it will be in PS4 or neXtBox. I don't see the assumption here.

I agree. This is just wishful thinking.
if its true with that high W of power consume and overheat we can expect alot of new broke-melted boxes again or godzilla sized consoles

I don't see why we would need such a leap in graphical power on our consoles, when they are the graphic power in consoles is fine for games now
Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

it's just seems even harder to imagine, seeing how much games have progessed in every aspect since then. It's difficult to imagine, graphics especially being that much better with new systems coming out when compared to current ones. I don't see ps4 having a massive improvement, like the ps3 did over ps2

Physics limits and diminishing returns will make it much harder in the future.

the consumer acceptance for the size/weight of the first PS3 model was very low - a device that consumes even more power (1st gen PS3 max consumption was ~200W) has to be even bigger and heavier to accomodate for the cooling system it needs additionally the heavier/bigger sth is the higher are it's transport costs I think it's safe to say both MS and Sony won't make a console that's bigger than the PS3, so a 180w GPU is out of the question |
I have never understood the reason why consoles have to be small. It makes since to have smaller options over time for many reasons, but why at launch? Why does it matter how big something is when it is just going to sit under your TV? I understand the days when consoles were an accersoy item, but now it is nearly the only device you need connected to your TV.
I hope either Sony or MS come out with a very high power system, and leaves size out of the equation. Times have changed, and it is time game devices become fully respectable A/V units.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Bigger consoles means much costlier shipping and warehousing, so there are economic incentives to make small and light consoles.
