Red Deer teen charged after boy, 6, sexually assaulted
A 13-year-old boy has been charged after a younger boy was sexually assaulted on a toboggan hill in Red Deer, Alta., police said.
The RCMP said they arrested the teen, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, on Wednesday and charged him with one count of sexual assault in the case involving the six-year-old.
The alleged incident happened near the hill at the Bower Community Centre in Red Deer, Alta.
(CBC)On Jan. 6, the boy was sledding on the hill at a community centre when he said he was approached by an older boy who took him into a bush near the hill and assaulted him, he told police.
Police have said the boy was traumatized, but not physically hurt.
The teen has been released and is scheduled to appear in a Red Deer court on Feb. 7.
