It is, the games nothing more that a running joke. 6 years to make, they've made 5 Assassins Creed games in the time it's took to make that and for what a few million sales? and that's if it's lucky.

This series is almost dead, Western RPG's have long since taken over.

Two things could happen:

1 --It would be the end of the world as we know it...
The amount of internet traffic would be so high that the internet itself would implode, leaving the world 30 years in the past, such event would make peoples life styles change in such a drastic way that 75% of said people would reach the breaking point entering in a state of mental instability so extreme that would cause them to commit crimes without caring and behave in completely unnatural ways, that would force the entire world's authorities to act but the remaining ''sane'' people would see this as an oppression in hard times and would accuse the world('s) government(s) of being tyrants, government response would inevitably be violence, as there's no other way to contain/restrain civilians that are causing an irreparable damage to the world and it's civil society, as the time passes, governments become unsustainable as there's actually no one to govern, so still standing countries would use all their remaining military power to try and take control of what is left in the world, to create a their own world order and re-instate the human race, nukes being dropped in every place where there's still opposing humans, as there are no alliances basically they would just kill each other, leaving this world with just a portion of the humans that it once had. Year 2029, there's just 9000 humans left, the devastation, illness and famine make reproduction and survival a hard task, the average lifespan of a human is 22 years and decreasing... then suddenly a spreading disease becomes an outbreak, an outbreak of malaria kills the remaining humans in no less than 2 years. The human race is no more. Mosquitoes reach experimental facilities where they reproduce close to radiation, now without humans there's every kind of animals everywhere, the few that could survive the human war, in 4 years thanks to being close to many types of radiation mosquitoes become completely different from how we knew them, they have the level of intelligence comparable to that of a human and they are the size of a dog, struggling to survive in a world that's obviously not designed for them, using their 800000x improved senses (because of their size increase) they search for the biggest heat source they can find... the earth's core, they don't know what is there, but their instinct says that heat equals food, as they cannot reach it, using their now brilliant intellect they find a way to get there using the few resources that humans left behind, huge digging machines and all kinds of experimental weaponry and tools hidden in the underground facilities they discovered. After 2 year of excavation, and surviving killing their own species, just the very few strongest mosquitoes left, less than 30, they are very close to reach the core but still some weeks, maybe months away, is then when they decide to use human weapons, they drop a nuke in the huge hole that leads to the core, the explosion inside it's so big that breaks the continuity of the earth's core own structure, making it unstable, the core implodes just to explode moments after, reducing the third rock to just dust.

I think we would get a few people downplaying how much of a coup it would be (like some in this thread have already done) and the vast majority squeezing out whatever bitter tears they have left after Bayonetta announcement in a consecutive meltdown of epic proportions.

I never thought of this happening but I want to see it happen just because I can't get enough of watching meltdowns... so entertaining.

After the chaos of FFXIII becoming multiplatform and the rage from MH and Bayonetta 2 I'm convinced Nomura and his colleagues would disappear from their houses mysteriously and a decade later some fisherman ends up fishing up one of the corpses.

Thats actually pretty true regardless of where Versus goes. Also, wasn't there a leak or something that showed it was now WiiU/PS3? Or did that turn out fake?

The amount of butthurts would be more fun than playing the actual game.

This. I wouldn't wish this on anyone...

But if it was the same a Bayonetta 2 (the game would be cancelled otherwise) then I'd be cool with it, and I'm sure real fans of vsXIII would prefer it that way than not getting the game at all.
