As to your other point you are comparing apples and oranges. Dedicated gaming handhelds cater to a different market although I would agree that smartphones are taking a large chunk of casual gamers away. The comments from Kowenicki and disolitude are hilarious as well. I wonder if you guys would be making such comments if this was an identical thread about a Microsoft device.

My point in these comparisons has always been the same, to support my idea that Vita should have been a gaming centric smartphone. I think it would have fared far better, been more profitable (not stuck to a lower price, contracts FTW!), and could be replaced/upgraded every couple years to maximise savings and broaden Playstation's mobile brand. The fact that it took less than a year for phone to surpass it in raw power (and only opening day to surpass it in sales) shows that a dedicated handheld focused on the core gamer/high end tech is just a bad business decision. They need a more flexible design that can move with technology while providing superior gaming experience as well as the features a core-gamer aged 18+ is likely going to demand... i.e. a smartphone.

I get what you are trying to say but the fact is that Sony already has smartphones they release regularly.
Furthermore how would you address the limitations of touch only controls. Certain gaming experiences are simply out of reach with a touch only interface.
