Keiji Inafune has announced a new zombie game called Yaiba as part of his Comcept label. It’s got everyone exited because of the zombies. Inafune’s good at zombies.

Check out the screens for some cel-shaded, cyborg zombie bashing. Speaking on the Comcept site Inafune had the following to say:

“It felt like something is missing; something people expect from me the most. Everywhere I go, people ask:“Are you working on it?” “ When is it coming?” The expectation seems higher in the west. The expectation is clear. It’s for my next zombie game. There are countless zombie games out there, and yet, people say they want to see a new Inafune zombie game. I am flattered and grateful, for people associating me as a “Zombie Lover”. For that, I must, answer to this expectation. This new concept for my game was born some time after becoming independent. I don’t want to spoil everything just yet, but I hope you will enjoy my new game that is loaded with stuff I love, zombies, ninjas, robots, and action. It’s called “YAIBA”. Ihope you are excited. I know I am.”

I hope to see more gameplay and the platform(s) of this game at TGS. Inafune seems to be very busy these days, but it looks like his ideas grew some years before he did it.

looking great. need more gameplay to get hyped.

For Vita, this could be pretty good. I was literally thinking the other day that Dead Rising on the Vita would be a good game. It's the kind of thing I can just faff around on for 15 minutes at a time just making weapons, killing zombies or exploring. So on the go it would be a nice prospect.

Obviously, this isn't going to be Dead Rising Vita, it may not even be for that system. But you never know!

i hope that this game comes out on an home console...
because i dont own a 3ds or a vita and i dont like to play games on my smartphone :D
