Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 720: 343 Industries Working On 'Next Gen Halo Graphics'

NowGamer

Halo 4 developer 343 Industries is searching for staff to "help create the current and next generation of game visuals in the Halo universe", hinting that work could already have begun on a Halo game for the next Xbox.

"We are looking for an experienced graphics developer to help us deliver cutting edge graphics technologies for AAA experiences," reads the Microsoft job ad.

Th spec includes working on "current and next generation of game visuals in the Halo universe."

"Work on one of the most exciting and creative properties in the industry; Work with the incredible 343 team to help drive the future of Halo," adds the job spec.

Candidates will also be expected to get "up to speed quickly with the current rendering and shading architecture, supporting current efforts and future investigations," while
experience Xbox 360 and DirectX 11 experience is also considered favourable.

Halo 4
was announced way back at E3 2011 as the first part in the new 'Reclaimer Trilogy'. Little is known about Halo 5 and Halo 6, but we wouldn't be surprised to see a Halo 4 sequel help launch a new Xbox at the end of 2013.

That's also when Activision was planning to launch sci-fi shooter Destiny for Xbox 360 and next-gen Xbox - from Halo creator Bungie.

As long as they don't release initial bullshit "tech demos" like the CGI from PS3 Motorstorm and Killzone 2005, I'm looking forward to this.

What those guys are doing with Halo 4 is insane, I've never thought the 360 could reach that level.

Halo 5 is likely to look amazing.

I'm really excited for Halo 4, I think 343 rejuvenated the franchise and Halo 5 is going to look amazing with them at the helm

Without order nothing can exist - without chaos nothing can evolve.

It would be awesome if they made an ODST-like spin-off to go with it. After all, they did say that they plan to make Halo an annual release, if my memory serves me right. Still, ignoring the 360 install base might not be a very good idea.

If they launch Xbox Infinite with a Halo title, there's as good a chance as any that it'll be a spin-off rather than Halo 5. It all depends if Microsoft tries for 2013 or 2014, really. If it's in '13, that guarantees that it won't launch with H5.

Looking forward to Halo 4, but very curious as to what they will do with it on the NEXT XBox.

Halo 2 Anniversary Edition will likely come before a Halo 4 sequel.

I don't like the yearly release of halo but love halo so much i don't care.
