I am amazed by the amount of haters. Now compare that to the like/dislike ratio on youtube...

Well, it's a forum of course there will be haters... that is why IRC is so awesome (much less haters if you are in your favourite channels... and the ability to ban people that are hating if you are a mod ( ¬‿¬) ), anyway, in my opinion parov stellar is great~

Around the Network

I can totally dig the music, but like someone above me said, it would be more like good background music to me rather than something I just sit and listen to. Still a good thread though, thanks for sharing.

^Did you not watch my video? That's not background music...

Yes, I watched yours, TheSource's and several other Parov Stelar videos like Chambermaid Swing and Matilda and I still don't really like their music. But I feel a bit bad now for sounding arrogant in my first post and for dissing the music taste of another person (who in this case is my most favorite VGC staff member). I shouldn't post when I'm in a bad mood...

So, @TheSource: Sorry for my first post. BTW: I thought you had left. I'm glad you're still around.

Booty Swing is probably the best Parov Stelar song. I blast the shit out of this stuff at work to keep from falling asleep.

Parov Stelar is dance music with vintage influences done bad imo. Soleron is right, this is background music (I'd say: perfect for H&M boutiques). No wonder one of Parov Stelar's tracks is currently used to promote the Fiat Punto. Doesn't swing at all, his music always reminds me of Stars on 45's terrible swing medleys from the 80s.

Here's an example of great modern (well, actually already 10 years old) dance music with vintage influences that was written (not assembled on a Macbook), actually swings and got a simple, but great dance video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPTUuef3h4o Moloko/Forever More

Never heard of Moloko, enjoying her a lot, thanks a lot!
