Forums - Gaming - to the moon, one of the best games i have played in my life

so today i just finished playing to the moon, and its thanks to vgcartz for putting there review on the front page. the game is honestly not like anything i played before, there is no to little gameplay, there is no fighting or action, its just a story..... an amazing story that is. i wont say what its about or the idea of it as i dont want to ruin it for people who want to play it. has anyone here played the game? what did you think?

welp I've played it but you know what I think.  There was a point near the end where I couldn't help but cry and I think that's the most a video game's story has ever affected me.

The romance in there is one of the best and most realistic I've seen in games, because it's not perfect, but that doesn't mean it's bad, it's just flawed.  yet truly beautiful.

edit:  also I'm glad that you liked it

...

Haven't played it yet or watched it since it is more of an interactive movie it seems. Did you cry at the ending. Lot of people reporting wet eyes playing the game. My eyes get dry while playing games so this one should be interesting change.

the romance is the best by far in any video game i ever played. i didnt cry but that was because i was around people, but honestly even so if people looked at my face they could have seen my reactions. the music is amazing as well.... it easily changes your mood in seconds!

you need to play it honestly, get the idea of "its an interactive movie" out of your head and just experience the game for what it is, dont hold that against it or you wont like it. i didnt cry at the ending, i was around people. but more than once i was about to cry honestly. its just an outstanding experience that you wont forget any time soon

Eh, don't know what to think of it really. After having watched the trailer and getting a basic understanding of the story I immediately bought it. Perhaps I got a bit too excited because the game just didn't live up to my expectations.
It opened great and sucked me in from the very start but somewhere in the middle of the game it just went downhill and my excitement pretty much died. The lack of gameplay didn't annoy me as I knew what kind of game it was, which is why I really didn't understand the point of the puzzles between the timejumps. They weren't hard or anything, just annoying.

Instead, I wish the developer had spent some time giving the player a bigger role in uncovering the "mysteries" in game. As it is, the game pretty much order you to sit in a corner and shut up while the game plays itself. The part where the girl runs around doing all kinds of stuff while doing everything to assure you have absolutely no part in it is especially bad. I still want to strangle that bitch. You've reached a very emotional and climactic part of the story, and then a door slams in the face with the sign "I'm sorry but you're too stupid to follow this. See ya at the ending!". Hooray...

End of rant.

I think the story is great and the concept is fantastic. But the execution is lacking. The story has so much potential that it ultimately fails to live up to. Now, I don't dislike the game as much as it sounds like. Heck, I don't dislike it at all. It just failed to live up to itself and my stupidly high expectations.

could anyone tell me how to add a poll?

I loved it. A great adventure game with a beautifully represented story. It's not an interactive movie, more like an interactive book with pictures.
I recently saw it pop up on Steam for $8, definitely worth a purchase for who hasn't played it yet.

The first Syberia game had the same ish feeling of exploring someone's life. It is a more traditional adventure game though. I'm still waiting for Syberia 3, missed it's june 2010 release date, it's starting to become vapor ware now :(

Anyway I agree, more like this please.
