Yea AMD has had shit GPGPU performance up until the GCN architecture.

AMD didn't make the the GCN's GPU. In fact AMD didn't make GPU's at all back the, ATI did. They didn't make it either though.

So, you mean that the stuff that was known since June 2011 was used in this bullshit rumour ... what a surprise
The fact that the specs missed the 32GB model and didn't list that the system has 2GB of total memory are gigantic indicators that this was made up.

I said GCN as in Graphics COre Next, not Flipper.... Why would you think I was talking about the Gamecube? The flipper doesn't even have GPGPU.
And ATI didn't make the Flipper, they brought the company that did after the Gamecube was released.

Missing the 32GB model actually makes sense, Nintendo probably didn't bother devs more than the base model. The 1GB of RAM for games also makes sense for what would be confirmed Nintendo would be more likely to confirm and keep locked down the amount of RAM that devs can actually use. How much RAM the OS uses doesn't really directly affect devs so it makes sense that they might not bother with the number.

He's talking about Graphics Core Next. The graphics architecture the 7750-7970HD series of AMD graphics cards are based on.
Before this series of cards, AMD had horrible GPGPU performance and implementations.
