I couldn't be bothered to read the whole OP as I suspect the general premise stems from your thoughts in the other thread (in which I already replied... kinda surprised you bothered to make a thread about it unless it's some kind of joke)
However I wanted to point out a small flaw in your Wii > GC comparison: Userbase. Mario Kart for example has a wide appeal so the larger the number of people with consoles capable of playing a Mario Kart game, the higher MK sales will be (in the case of MK64, DD and Wii it seems to be around 30-35% of users) The other 3 games don't have quite as wide an appeal, but they are still not niche games so when the userbase increases so will the games sales.

Can you prove those statements?

1. My patience is wearing thin.

2. I am stating regardless of how many arguments we put forth, YOU counter the argument with a ruling of a kind (which comes out of nowhere) that makes our arguments null in YOUR retrospective.

3. A game does not have to sell 20 million to be ''huge''. HALO is huge and yet its best selling title sold 11.5 million; would that be considered a moderate success on your account judging by your comments (i mean its not ''huge''. It only sold 11.5 million)? Super Smash Brawl sold that amount as well, i guess its not a ''huge'' success as well..... Nor is Mario Galaxy......

1. This is usually the case when someone is losing a debate

2. While it is true that I will have counter evidence to your argument, I disagree that my evidence comes out of no where. If you think my evidence is nonsensical, then please explain why

3. The word "Huge" isn't really important. You can replace "Huge" with any word you see fit. "Big" "Gargantuan" "Tremendous" etc. The wording here is arbitrary. What's important is the number that these words represent. In my case, 20 million is the special number. 20 million is the point that only games with 'Wii' in their title can reach. I simply picked the word "Huge" for simplicity. If you don't like "Huge" I can use a different word.

LOL, I'll remember that.

You'll be banned by Q1 2014, by the way. That what it will take for NSMBU to surpass 10M at worst.

That of course, if you still have this account.

I see you already have the bet in your signature. That shows confidence. I like that. I'll see you tommorow to specify and confirm the limits and stakes of the bet.

Sounds like I'm reading a bunch of opinions. But no proof. hmm....

Yep, Nintendo should've known better when coming up with titles for some of their other games:

Metroid: Other Wii
Zelda: Wii-ward Sword
Wii-noblade

Furthermore, Activision should learn from this with Call of Duty in their game's titles:

Transformers: Call of Duty
Spider Man: Called for Duty
How to train your Dragon... for Duty
The Walking Dead: They died during Duty

They could even bring back the music genre:

Guitar Hero: Call of Duty Edition

This is an obvious joke thread.

You guys are getting riled up for nothing - he obviously knows that the "having Wii in the title" argument is a bad one.

I agree with the Wii examples. Not so much with the Call of Duty examples. I'm not sure my rule applies to implementing a gaming series in the title.

Would have sold better if it was called Kirb-Wii: Epic Yarn.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

That is the very special wording that makes your arguments very biased and unjustified - personal opinion :

In my case, 20 million is the special number.

Your thesis cannot be justified by a personal justification; thus, making your assumptions nullified.

You are a lost cause, have a great life.

"So, I've went around my school and gathered seventeen unbiased individuals*, gave them this same list of games, and requested them to give there own assessment as to why those games have sold so well. Specifically, I took various students who have never played a video game before. Surely, they have yet to form any biases or favorites. Every thing these participants say is completely unaffected by bias, and is entirely based off of reason and logic. The results were unbelievable. All nineteen participant had the exact same reaction as myself. They all gave the same assessment as myself. They all blamed the inclusion of the word 'Wii' in their title as the reason for why those games were so successful.

seventeen =/= nineteen
:P

I know you`re kidding. But this is a really good argument. Wii Sports and Wii fit were/are revolutionary (the first one was bundle, but I`m sure it would manage to sell more than 10 million units without bundle too be very pessimistic). I am remembering how was the first time I see Wii Sports in action, was an experience out of this planet, Wii Fit too, I play video games since 1990, and the first impression do not have any paralel in any other console (in Wii favor).
The problem is that the new sensation do not last forever.
Mario Kart reach around 25 million units sold without any bundle, Wii Sport Resorts around 15 million, New Super Mario Bros Wii too.
Mario Kart Wii and New New Super Mario Bros Wii are like the ugly duck in the list, they are not part of the Wii Series, I think in this case both would sell what sell without the Wii in title. But the others 5, the Wii in the title is a key point. We all know how the consumers are. Game Party 3 sold well in US because of the confusion with the name of Wii Party.

By the way, in this logic, some others games really deserves the "Wii" in the titles (to sell more than 20 millions units): Tatsunoko vs Capcom Wii; Xenoblade Chronicles Wii; Muramasa Wii; GoldenEye Wii; Donkey Kong Country Returns Wii, etc.

Sorry for my poor English.

I'm not the one deciding 20 million the special number. 20 million is the special number, not because I choose for it to be special. It's the special number because it's the point that only 'Wii' titled games can reach.
