Forums - PC - pc's fanboys opinions on gta iv

I like the GTA series better on consoles, I only use my PC for FPS and Racing games since they are more life like on my PC, or if there is a noticeable difference in graphics, but for games where you fly, drive, run, shoot and stuff like that all in one game, I buy it for a console.

As a "PC fanboy" (I guess I qualify for that since I play it more than the consoles), I can't say I'm interested at all in buying either the console versions or the inevitable PC version.

I´ll wait for the PC version, playable at 1280*1024, 80 fps, twice the content, more effects, and uncompresed 7.1 audio...

I don't really understand how you can argue any game that's multiplatform to PC is "better on consoles" unless for some reason the PC version has performance issues the console versions don't (a very rare circumstance). What is the possible disadvantage of the PC version? Controls? Mouse and Keyboard are far superior for FPS games, but for a game like GTA all I have to do is plug in the 360 controller I bought used for $30. That was a lot cheaper than buying a 360 dontcha think?  Plus, look at all the advantages you get with PC versions:  Better graphics, framerate, mods, free content, and much better online systems.

I only cared for about 24 hours in GTA4, then I just lost all interest in the franchise afterward.

I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.

Currently playing: Super Smash Brothers Brawl(Wii), Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer(DS), Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (DS), WiiFit(Wii)

Games Recently Beaten: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Normal; Very Hard after the next DLCs become available)

It's an anticipated title for me, and I own all the previous ones (except VC Stories). As for the difference between 720p and 1080p; I think it's vast. You need not be a technophile tp spot the obvious difference in resolution, like many claim.
This is in no way a PC title for me though, I find the controls and overall gameplay on PC versions lacking, and they always release it on consoles almost 18 months before...

I can see no virtually no difference at all, and I am a technophile. Perhaps I could notice a difference on a 70''+ screen, but I've never tested that.

I played the entire gta series (including I and II) on my pc. It was genius as far as the controls went, because when I was driving, I used a joypad and when I was on foot and had to aim at people, I used the mouse and kbd.

However, waiting an extra 6 months for VC and SA to come out did suck.

I'm a PC fanboy and as far as I am concerned GTA4 is the first good reason to own a console this generation. It will obviously come to PC eventually, but I don't know if I can handle the wait.

The additional content for the 360 is the only thing that could attract me to that particular platform, but I will probably opt for a PS3 and just play the expansions round a friend's house.

1080p may look better than 720p, but the performance hit means that it is simply not worth doing on consoles 99% of the time (like opting for DX10 over DX9 on PC).

The physics are unlikely to wow anybody, but the past suggests R* will get it right where it counts - i.e. vehicle physics that emphasise fun over realism.

The RAGE engine is hardly likely to make Crytek or Epic tremble in their boots, and we have already seen how patchy the graphics look in the trailers. On the other hand, it is safe to say the art design will be hipper-than-thou, and as far as I am concerned, that is of far greater importance.

In short: BEST GAME EVAR!!!!!!!!!!!1

i preferred GTA3 and Vice City on PC over PS2 by a lot (only played San Andreas on PC).. my PC fanboyism would say "It would be better if, and i hope, we see it on the PC, if it actually mixes things up.. since San Andreas didn't"

Frankly i don't think i know enough about the game or its performance at this point to give an educated opinion on any of the games specifics
