Lol, Zubat is useless. He can't learn any HM, and Wing Attack does have a base power of 35 in RBY xD.

Even without TM's, Nidoking can learn Surf and Strength, which are OK. Mankey can learn Strength as well (better than Fury Swipes or Karate Chop for sure).

If Rol dies in the gym... which pokemon can learn Flash?

Changing Wing Attack's base power to 60 was one of the best ideas in Generation 2.

I'm hoping to have a Water Pokemon by the time I need Surf, but Strength would be a good investment for both of them.

I don't want to think about it, because I'm investing pretty heavily in that little guy at the moment. I guess if I had to, I could pray for a Jigglypuff, Abra, or Drowzee. And if all else fails, I just go in the dark. I've beaten that cave before without any light, I can do it again.

Catch a Shelder. Cloyster is a hard ass!

I'm hoping I can, but it's out of my hands. Worst case scenario, I'll get a Lapras instead.

G1 Lapras would be cool. Thumbs up.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

You know what? This thread inspired me to do my own Nuzlocke run on Pokémon Yellow. My Pikachu died shortly after beating Koga, but there really was no problem going on from there.

How far did I get? Lance beat me with his Dragonite which killed my ~lv50 Gyarados, Dugtrio and Kabutops. And my lv 46 Venosaur died against the first elite four guy.

Moral: DON'T EXPECT TO BEAT THE ELITE FOUR WITH LV50s! I learned that the hard way :(

...just thought I would give you a heads up :P

...you did an entire run in the time it took for me to get to Mt. Moon?

I need to update this more.

@IIIIITHE1IIIII: Bloody hell mate, you just send your pokemon on death row with such a low level. You might as well coughing up on your party to Lvl 65 atleast against the elite 4 and the champ!

@Salnax: Don't make the same mistake, lad. Rol is actually the star of the show, don't make comit suiside, or the show has no meaning! :(

I beated the elite four at level 49 (except for Articuno that was lv 50) in pokemon blue (non-nuzlocke) years ago. I had a Gengar (sleep is very powerful in RBY), a  Golem and the mentioned Articuno so I could do lots of switches. And Alakazam sweeps like a boss. The other two were a Raichu and Charizard, I think.

An unlikely party to have in a Nuzlocke run using and emulator, to be honest. A Blizzard + Thunderbolt Nidoking may be able to defeat Lance at level 49. Or an Ice Beam + Thunderbolt Starmie, but Starmie is overpowered anyway.

Oh wow, another one of these! Great!

Now get a Psyduck and call it UncleScrooge! (If you played Fire Red you could have equipped it with a Coin Amulet for even more awesomness haha)

I'll be making several trips into Mt. Moon, in order to train and get loot before going for the gold.

I'll explore the Southwest corner first, then the southeast, and then the north, taking trips back to the Center until the entire floor is clear.

Loot I grab includes the TM for Water Gun (Could of used that for the last gym...), a Potion.

Ioi actually turns out to be useful against a Bug Trainer and a Lass with Grass/Poison mons. The ones marked "1" and "5" on the map. I forgot that Bug was super effective against Poison this gen! He goes up to level 10 and learns Supersonic, a move that only ever works when the enemy uses it.

On a trip further down into the cavern, I meet my first Team Rocket member! You can tell they're evel because they wear black, have whips, and use poison mons.

"But Salnax, aren't Turkish and Ioi Poison type?"

No. You are wrong and stupid.

Anyhow, I find a HP Up and immediately use it on Rol. He's the team's leader after all, and will be necessary to fight Misty. I also give him the Rare Candy I find.

Speaking of Rol...

He seems to like me more now! Perhaps it's because of the performance-altering substances?

After getting Mega Punch, which I'll assign to a party member when appropriate, I encounter another Rocket. He goes down easily. So does the last guy on the first floor, a Hiker with Geodudes and an Onix. Beating him up is theraputic.

Finally, I get a Moon Stone. This will come in handy later! After Misty though.

Next time: Beating Team Rocket!

Anyhow, that's all I have time for for now. Why? College is back in session! And with it comes a lack of time. I'll try to update every day or two.

Performance-altering substances... I lol'ed at that! I think he like even before you beaten Brock.

Haha, I love your reasoning for why Team Rocket is evil

If you get a Sandshrew name him Habino :)
