Forums - Nintendo - Wii U Zelda coming in 2014, will be biggest Zelda game ever! (Exclusive details from trusty source!)

Sounds like a very ambitious project, hope they can pull it off! I always thought the art style of SS was a very VERY good idea, but it was held back by the power of the Wii, and in the game it looked ugly. If they can achieve something like the concept art in the Wii U, then it's gonna be great.

Also, despite that I loved the combat mechanics and the use of motion controls on it, there are many gameplay flaws that need to be fixed.

Sounds all good, but to be honest a lot of it could be made up by anyone and the rest is just common sense.

I'd love to have the next Zelda game be somewhat like described in the article though, and don't mind the supposed Skyward Sword artstyle. It also doesn't mean it'll look anything like the Wii game. The article mentions Link "looks like a more detailed Link from Skyward Sword". This probably means, the level of detail like the E3 demo, but the colours and the textures have the 'paint' style of Skyward Sword.

All I hope anyway, is that for the next game Epona is brought back so there are no more wierd travel mechanics, the main antagonist is Ganon(dorf) and there are more places to visit besides the usual hub-world/city like in the older games. It's time to be a little more tradional in the world design.

There was one thing in the article that kind of bugged me, it mentions that the game will feature "about the same amount of dungeons like the previous games". Well that's convenient. So we can be sure the game has anywhere between 4 and 12 dungeons. Now we still don't know anything!

What of it?

If you mean Skyward Sword is a smaller game than Ocarina of Time, than I agree. The new one should be a lot bigger.

Sure a lot of the items present in OOT were one-off items where they would only apply to 1 dungeon, but there were still A LOT of items. Iron Boots, the Moses boots lol, Lens of Truth Megaton Hammer, Biggoron Sword, and then the 3 magical powers, 3 arrows... Skyward Sword was extremely trimmed down in comparison.

Im not gonna bash SS all day; its combat had flashes of brilliance, and the boss fights were refreshing, but the item count was paltry like the enemy variety.

Man, all this talk about Zelda makes me wanna replay SS in Hero Mode :D

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Their most expensive game EVER?! OMG are Nintendo holding gaming back?

What is that supposed to mean...?

Reference to one of lilbro's threads

Which one?

Not sure I want Gannondorf as the bad guy. I would rly like to see Vaati in a 3d console game... Or a new demon... Or Vaati and Gannon both teaming up together! OR Vaati and Gannon both having theyr own evil plans but they fight eachother while Link is stuck between the two and have to stop them both!!!

I'd also like to see the magic elements from OoT come back, but with more spells. Maybe even a talent tree where you can choose to improve spells, physical abilities and Musical or travel abilities :D But I dont want a exp system, unlock a new talent point at the end of every dongeon.

I see a lot of people underestimating how awesome Skyward Sword's art style would look if redone for Wii U. On a new engine. Now it will look even better than a Monet painting.

As long as the magic is actually useful. I'm not sure if it's possible without it but the only place I ever used Din's fire was the few dozen torches you had to light at the begining of the shadow temple. Nayru's love I think I experimented with a couple of times in the desert, but is ultimately uneeded, and I literally have never used Farore's wind.

Something like 'Graphics are holding gaming back'

I don't get it...

I'm gonna get crucified for this, because I've been told its a bad idea, but I don't care. I still would like to see what it would turn out like.

I'd like to see a Legend of Zelda game set in modern time, the near future, or the distant future. Not with humans and whatnot, but with a society that is modern, hylian, and the old legends are regarded as just that, legends. Until an ancient evil returns. But its a thing where it would be a twist about halfway through the game. Ruined cities, ravaged by this evil ancient force that nobody can do anything about, until our hero stumbles upon a secret chamber in a museum or something, and the master sword is revealed. It would have this "OMFG ITS A ZELDA GAME" moment.

I'm describing it very poorly. But I think it would be an interesting direction for the series. Likewise if a sci-fi version were made. Its something completely different, and may not actually be good, but I'd like to see Nintendo branch out the setting a bit from traditional sword and sorcery.

Check out my Youtube Let's Play channel here.

It would be cool if on the pad it was 2d overhead Zelda, and on the tv 3d zelda. And you can play it either old school 2d slash em up, or 3d puzzle like gameplay.
